lens change?

Ive been searching through the forums and i cant get a decent answer to this question.

How do i change out/take out the Orange lens on my headlight. I really hate the egg yold and would love to get it out. Is baking my only option? Does the housing come off without baking? What do i do?

Actully, there are a number of posts on this very issue (see links below). Seems like a trade off to buy new lights or follow the posts of how to change the lenses. Pay more for the lights and bolt in, or save money and DIY ???

You can get the lenses out without baking the lights. You can't get new ones in though. Honestly I can't remember how I did it cause it was 3 yrs ago. But I know its possible.

Baking is way easy. 200F and 5 minutes or so and remove the metal clip at the top, gently release the clips and use a couple or screw drivers or in my case a screwdriver and a 1" putty knife. Gently pry and release the two parts from each other in a few minutes before the sealant dries up.

I thought the same thing, so I did them one at a time and then dremeled a bunch out of the back and added projectors while it was apart and now I have somewhat OEM HIDs that don't glare.

Well I personally did this Christmas day in about 10 minutes. I have skinny hands though. I pulled out the headlight housing, and the blinker light housing, and stuck my finger through to the lens. They both popped right out. The only thing is I know here in Texas your flashers can be any color between White and Amber. You'll have to check your local laws. Again, I did this without even taking teh lights off the car.

Well here are a couple, I still need to do a full thread/write-up but my laptop wifi card is down and I need to use the 6' lan cable to use the internet, or send it back for the warranty repair (who knows how long that will take). So I can get on at work but not enough time to really make a decent post and thread so here you are.

This is where I started:

This is 3/4 of the dremeling, I removed the rest at the bottom of the circle and even more to the top.

Partly there:

One headlight before rotational adjustment at 25':

Nice, so how does the projector stay in there? sealant or somekind of bracket? Where'd you get the projectors from? Sorry, for all the ?s.

No problem, without totally jacking this thread...I got the projectors at TRS, The Retrofit Source. They mount on a threaded shaft with locking rings to sandwich the factory housing in between the projector and the set of rubber gasket and locking nuts.

Well I did my lens removal today. Took like 15mins all together. Love the look, forgot to take pics though lol. I ordered the silvervision bulbs to flash amber whenlit but silver when off... the bad thing is I got the py21w bulb where the pins are offset 160 degrees rather than 180 degrees. So they dont fit.
