YES! I knew this was going to turn out this way!!!
I guess the clutch will "at least" get a new disc while it's out?

I can't wait to see the GT3 orange on your MINI .... and I totally agree that it will look great with the stock black flares.

The lambo orange was too much tangerine.

That's riiight speedwing, it was afterall your suggestion to paint it GT3 orange...lol.

Even thought of putting the side stripes that say "John Cooper Works" to look like those on the GT3 but it might be too much with the black sport stripes.

Dang.... more power to you. Last time I completely rebuilt a car it cost me nearly twice as much as what I could have bought one for... and that wasn't including all my labor.

Mark,

Really looking forward to watching Oscar's rebuild

There's an official MINI site for graphics http://www.minimotoringgraphics.com/vehicle_art.php, might give you some further ideas

Subscribed. Can't wait to see another custom orange MINI. Here's a track one from back in about 2003, at our old shop:

Why did MINI never have a factory ORANGE for hardtops? It is one of my favorite car colors.

At as standstill... got everything back in as far as I can. I've spent the morning looking for an OS LSD and new clutch/pressure plate setup.

Gotta find one fast so I can overnight it.

I found a setup at mini madness for 2300 bucks but I'm sure I've seen them cheaper.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

Is that for the OS LSD and clutch or just the LSD?

Actually, just got off the phone with him. I can get the OS diff and clutch assy for 3480.00 and have it overnighted for 150.00 bucks.

I have a friend who I'm still waiting to hear back before I order it from Way. We're trading out some work so it might be cheaper for me to deal with him.

I'm waiting to hear back before I call Way's office again.

Just an update, including 2nd day air, an OS Giken diff and OS Giken clutch assy, everything was 3000.00 even.

I was going to go through Way but to save an extra 630.00 bucks, well, I had to go this other route.

Anyway, should have everything by Friday. Guess Monday will be the day to install the engine now...

Oh well...

Mark

Looking good. Also getting all the parts upgraded at the same time. Should be a very unique MINI by the end of the unscheduled project.

At the end of all this you will for sure have a one of a kind Mini .
Also, I don't know if this is your style, but have you considered retrofitting the black headlamp housing that Mini now offers on the 2011 models? I was looking into it, but I never found a definite price.
Lastly, I just know you want to throw on some lambo style doors with that color .

I actually did look up the lights for the Camden but they are Xenon lights and since I don't have that, I didn't want to mess with it right now. (hmmmm, I may rethink that, I may end up replacing the wiring harness on the right and it is what supplies the headlights)

Ouch....

Oh I forgot you did not have Xenons, I guess its time for an upgrade .
I might get the black headlamp housing since they now will be more common thanks to the 2011 models, but only if they are not a gazillion dollars.
Also, I honestly don't know why people put lambo doors on non lambo cars. Maybe they are trying to get their car chosen for the new fast and furious movie .
