Just wanted to chime in and add my voice to those who have been (somewhat) patiently waiting for MINI release the 2011 pricing info.

Since I live in New England and since I'm looking at a convertible this delay has me thinking the smart thing to do is wait until spring.
  1. The chance of getting any kind of deal at the turn of the model year is nil,
  2. A new dealership is opening up nearby in the spring which might mean grand opening deals and/or competition for business, and
  3. by spring we should have a better idea if we're gonna experience a double dip recession.

Hi All,

I live in Scotland, Uk.

I have had a Mini Cooper D since 2008 due to the amount of miles I was covering, and have always loved it. (Red, white roof, stripes, flame spokes etc.)

I have now just placed an order for the Facelift Cooper S and cannot wait on the Sept delivery.

Spec as follows :

MINI Cooper S

Exterior
Eclipse Grey metallic
17" Infinite Stream Alloys

Interior
Clth/Lea Ray Carbon Black
CHILI Pack
Dynamic Stability Control
Multi-function controls for s'wheel
Sport Steering Wheel
Run-flat tyres
Alarm system (Thatcham 1)
Elec Fold Exterior Mirrors
Heated Mirrors/Washer Jets
Black Bonnet Stripes
Chrome Line interior
Heated Front Screen
Roof&Mirror Caps in Black
Sun protection glass
Floor mats, velour
Rear-view mirror, auto dimming
Pass. seat height adjustment
Sport seats, front
Extended storage
Additional Decor Rings
Colour Line Carbon Black
Interior World Carbon Black
Sport Button
Headlight wash
Foglights, front
Rain sensor with auto. headlight activation
Xenon headlights
Automatic Air Conditioning
On-Board Computer
Extended Interior Light Package
DAB digital radio
Harman Kardon - Hi-Fi
Radio BOOST CD
Basic Bluetooth with USB
White Indicator Lenses

In the rest of Europe you can get it with the option of black light reflectors (see pic), but for some reason not in the UK ?? Strange.

Awesome build, Eclipse! And thanks for the pic--it does indeed look like it might be eclipse grey, doesn't it? My concern from previous photos is that it looks like it might be too dark. I'm a tad more encouraged by this photo. Thanks again!

Dodgy,

I'm with you on the darkness of the Eclipse Gray. What I saw on the MiniUK, it looks almost as dark as Black. That's the reason that I'm leaning towards the BRG ll which I am surprised that it looks like it does. I'm not a green guy, but this new green? Well it looks pretty nice. What I'm waiting for is to see the White/Silver color that's new.

I'm on the same page, hemisedan. I didn't think I was interested in the green at all, although I saw a BRG I MCS with black roof and mirrors, black stripes, and a little bit of tint in the windows and it looked pretty sharp. And from the photos I've seen, BRG II looks even better.

I did a configuration on the Mini UK site with a JCW and the BRG ll and red roof and mirrors. Right, I know that it sounds Christmas-si, but it really looks great to me. Tie in the red leather with checkered seats and Chili Red on the dash and doors, it gets all tied together.

If one goes with the Mini S, then look at the green lounge seats. THAT FOLKS is really neat. Granted, that's lots of green, but so are dollars.

The white silver color is the color on the Camden

Hey Eclipse,

Your build looks great, Im waiting to order a convertible version. But I want MINI Connected. Is it delayed in the UK as well? I guess it is in the USA. I want the black xenon headlights also. I read that Mission Control could be featured in the USA MINI Connected, but the UK one...not sure on that though. Why did you not get the adaptive headlights?

I would say that the quality of the images on the UK configurator are pretty poor, even the Mini / BMW sales guy agreed. On his monitor it did look black. Great to spec the car and get a price, but not great on colours.

Some good pics of the BRG II here : http://www.motoringfile.com/2010/08/...ery/?nggpage=4

Not too sure about the MINI Connected - it wasnt something that I was really looking at.

The adaptive headlights was going to cost me an extra 270 pounds, so instead of this I could get the heated screen, auto lights, auto rear mirror for the same price with the chili pack, so I went for this instead.

According to mini uk it also doesnt look like the black xenons will be an option that they will be able to offer me, although in the same factory they are putting them on German cars !!

Yeah, I guess the black will be a no cost option in the US and the adaptive lights are a 100 dollar option on top of the xenon price. But cant have then together which is a bummer.

The Black is a 100 euro option in Germany on the xenons only, but still dont understand why we cant get them in the UK.

I'll stop complaining about it now.............

So can we nickname these two configurations the Christmas Car or the Money Car?

I agree the Christmas Car actually looks much better than I would've guessed, but the JCW pushes it outside my price range. And given that the JCW motor isn't getting the 2011 upgrade it makes it that much easier to strike from my list.

Also the fuel gauge has been updated, with a 1/2 tank mark and better speedo makers (US-Spec). as seen here:

Yeah in Chicago..a fellow Motorer took those pics. I was unable to do MTTS..sad face.

But wanted to see what you guys thought, So im thinking the black headlights and this build. Other choice was adaptive headlights, but im leaning toward the black, what do you guys think? (Black on bottom and adaptive on top)

The black looks better, but I really like the adaptive feature and would opt for that functionality instead.

Black or adaptive

From what I have heard so far, the black headlights are NOT available with the adaptive headlight feature. Can't figure that out, but......what's wrong with taking the trim out and just having it powder coated and then you could powder coat it the color of your car, or in black, then put it back in place, with your adaptive headlights.

That's what I intend on doing, beings as Mini/BMW in their wisdom is refusing to offer black headlights to the JCW.

Release price.

Ya tolzsha, me too in Russian.

I can't understand why they don't just fire up the configuration, as no 2010 cars have been built since July 10th. At least we know, now that they are building 2011's now in Oxford.

Here is the new Eclipse Grey color with the new MINI Yours tattoos. It’s darker than Dark Silver… almost like a faded black/and I thought it was a faded Connaught Green

Did you actually see the car yourself ?

Not too sure about those Tattoos !! - they are a £200 pound option in the UK

chakram105,
I didn't see your build. What color did you go with? The color in the picture was Laser Blue, with the blackened headlights. I, still think that you can blacken your own headlights, after you get the car, beings as they are NOT allowing blackened headlights with the adaptors from the factory. The headlights don't use a reflector plate, so why not? Also, I noticed that this was a Mini s, but it had the cooper gas door. How did this happen? like the wheels.
