Pepper White Pictures

Just picked up my new Pepper white R56, it already has some black bonet stripes it it is really lacking in appearance. i like the white and black contrast so i'll probably get paint the wheels black, but how much is too much? black around the headlights? black fuel tank cover?

pictures? suggestions?

also, for interior mods, are do it yourself jobs much different than having vinyls or wraps or buying new accessories all together?

Congrats. Welcome to the MINI family. You can probably find a lot of images in the "Peerage of the Pepper White" thread. I would definitely suggest black wheels. The infamous brake dust of BMW/MINI are going to keep your grey stock rims black anyway. Buddy of mine put some Drag DR-34's on his PW/B MCS and it looks awesome. You can find them on www.tirerack.com <or> www.discounttire.com.

As far as the black-out looks it's all a matter of taste. I personally prefer the black-out beltline but leaving the chrome under the beltline alone...just my opinion. I've seen a couple that had the trim-rings around their head & tail-lights sprayed pepper white and that looked cool. I'd like to change my bonnet stripes but haven't found the perfect alternative yet. Enjoy the new ride and post some pics when you get a chance.

hey thanks ya, my last one was white as well and those wheels always stayed gray. i heard they have stuff you can put on the wheels to help and also brake pads that dont have so much dust.

for the bonnet stripes, i really like when they continue onto the back and i looekd at the show me your stripes thread and got some good ideas. for those and other things like trim and such, do you have to buy new parts or do they have DIY vinyls or can you even just buy some paint and do it yourself?

i'll put some pictures up soon, everyone's outside working on the E36s in my driveway first

No such thing as too much....

I blacked out pretty much everything on mine - here is a link to my thread with pictures. Since the last pictures, I have added a few more red accents (mirror backs, Deal's Gap dragon, exhaust tips).

Can't wait to see what you do with it!

I personally like the mostly blacked-out look. Black wheels are definitely on my short list! Congrats, you're going to love the new car.
Here are some of my '09 with lots blacked out.

I went with anthracite grey wheels and I never have brake dust problems. I am pretty **** about keeping it clean all the time though. I just added a JCW grill set today and it looks great. No pictures yet though. I'll take some tomorrow and post them in my gallery if you want to check it out.

I have an 08 Lightning Blue but now I want a Pepper white R56. I would vote for blacking everything possible out.

I ended up bringing the car back because there was clutch and shifter issues and the dealership sucked so I'm on the look for another one again. I like the pepper white but mcs in white are a hard find around here. Ill keep looking on here but its a pain

Horrible iphone pitcher, but here's mine as of a couple months ago. Wish I had the wheels power coated when I had the chance.

This is my 2008 MINI COOPER S. I blacked out pretty much on mine too and it's been over 8 months (used plasti-dip) and so far so good.

i got an 1st gen which i like a lot better than my old 2nd one. it's incredible. i'm going to pick it up tonight. i saw one mighty strips.com they sell DIY stripes, there's an offset stripe on the roof i want to continue, that should be simple enough.

I'm going to do a 3 color type deal, the chrome with subtle black but he included some really nice wheels and tires with it and they're chrome and with the handles and gas cap i think it will look good. it has a jcw intake and rear sway bar and some other goodies, LSD so i dont really have to do any perfomance mods right now. just visual stuff.

Where can i get a set of decent priced rally lights for it?

Welcome. I get comments everyday about my Pepper White and it being the best color for a Mini. I'm working on my base.....JCW grill coming on board and I have decided to do something different (at least I cannot find it or a picture on NAM). I'm using the stock spooler wheels and putting on 205/55/15 tires. I like the original and classic look, with some hint of "time attack" or a "rally" theme. Perhaps boot stripes too (suspender style). I'm looking everyday for other aggressive looking options. I'm having fun...you have fun too!

Since I am new to the wonderful world of minis, and have a new 2010 PW MCS to mod out...can one of you tell me about how, where, and how much to get the JCW grill I have read so much about in this and other threads?

Is this the same as the JCW aero kit?

thanks,
pac

I got the JCW grille and trim from Outmotoring a long time ago. You could also get a quote from dealers like Classic MINI or Morristown. I think it was under $150 shipped for grille and trim.

Applying wheel wax will help with brake dust and pretty much any aftermarket street brake pads produce less dust than the factory ones.

Def like the blacked out look myself! Just plasti dipped some of the front the other day (black wheels were last summer )

Not a perfect job but good enough for the time I invested.

There is also some stuff out from Armour all for wheels. It comes in a small can for like $8 and the brake dust does not settle at all. I used it on the wifes MCS with the grey wheels and did not clean it for 2 weeks and the wheels looked great. I think I used to much because I went through the can in like 3 washes. LOL!!!

I'll vouch for this product as well. In addition to keeping my infinite stream wheels nice and dust free, it also does a stellar job of keeping my partner's notoriously hard-to-keep-clean wheels on his 135i looking great for a couple weeks.

As for pictures, I have some of my 2010 MCS in my gallery. I, unlike others, love the chrome on my PW. I now see so many blacked-out MINIs, I almost think I'm being different by not doing it. However, to each his/her own. As long as it makes you smile as you're walking up to it in a parking lot, that's all that matters.

My PW/B MCS hardtop looks like any other MINI with the same combination but I'm happy. I can live with or without the stripes but I'm not going to mess with them since they came with it. The black 17" crown spokes had to grow on me but them being black is a plus in the looks category. I could go wild with the blackout theme but I won't. My money will go to performance.

Nice MCS, if i were to get an MCS, that's the combination i would get, with those glossy black 17 crown spokes.

If you are directing that at me, thanks. I've never been a crown spoke fan until I saw these black ones on mine. They look good and are easy to clean. I would give them up instantly for a set of matt black BBS CH-R's though.
