Recommendation for Scan tool

Was hoping someone could recommend a Scan tool for my 2008 mini cooper , < $150 and be able to clear codes .
My check engine light came on 2 weeks ago and dealer replaced the Vanos Solenoid . Thinking I might need one of these scan tools for the future, once warranty on car runs out.

Try searching for the scan gauge 2, that would be my choice.

yes, scan gauge two. Can also be set up as a gauge and read water temp, boost pressure and other things.

The Scan Guage II or Auterra Dash Dyno SPD are both nice because they can read/clear codes and you can conveniently mount them to use as a gauge.

I've been looking at Scan Guage II for some time...

Where is the best place to get it for Canadian drivers?

Craven Speed has a really nice mounting kit for the Scan Gauge II. Its expensive, $99, but well made and easy to install. It mounts to the back of your tach. and will put your scan gauge on either side of your tach. You can adjust the height to where you want so you can see it over the steering wheel. I rate it 5 stars, however, I wish I had ordered the parts indivdually and got the W bracket which has a mounting point on both sides of the tach. and then two more components to mount a Garvin GPS on the opposite side of the tach. About the Scan Gauge, the speedometer function is more accurate than the Mini's and I like the temp gauge, my JCW takes about 4.5 miles to get up to 222 degrees and runs between -4 and +2 degrees of that, at about 180 degrees it smooths out and hauls a$$.

I am about to throw My Scanguage II up for sale. Hit me up with a PM if you are interested. I used it for about a week and then pulled it out of the car. Looking for about $100. shipped. I just didn't like the way it looked on the dash. I have since installed boost and oil temp gauges as well so there is not enough room in my opinion for the scangauge and the other gauges.

Mods if you have an issue with me posting this please let me know and I will remove my post.

That case, you'll want one that scans more than just the powertrain ECU:

I know cost seems high, but it pays off after just a handful of scans (compared to what dealers charge for hook-up costs).

So the scan guage II shows water temp?
What other info does it show, voltage, oil temp, air intake temp?
On the website it says depending on the car.
