If you put the key fob in the ignition, but in the off position, and then press and hold down the odo reset button and push the key to the first position (click) you can access some vehicle info (VIN, build date, etc) and there's also something called an IP Test.

With the words IP Test showing on the screen, tap the odo button once and all hell breaks loose on the dashboard. All the lights go on and the speedo and tach needles cycle through.

Two questions:

1. What is this IP Test doing?

2. By doing this, I seemed to have eliminated some problems I was having with my door locks not unlocking. Does that make any sense? Or is it just coincidence?
