Need a quick "How To" for the exhaust...
Ok, so i finally got my craven short shifter and i am in the process of trying to get the exhaust off....but how the heck do you get the v clamp off of the down pipe? i took the nut and bolt out...but i cant seem to pry it open enough to get it off...is there a certain trick? Also is that the only thingi need to remove besides the hangers to get the exhaust off of the downpipe? thanks in advance.
I didn't even take my exhaust all the way off to get my ALTA SSK in. Just took off the hangers and put the exhaust on jack stands to lower it a bit. It was enough to get my arms around it and way less of a PITA.
thanks, but im trying to replace the downpipe, and this stupid v-band refuses to come off, i feel like im must be doing something wrong
Just takes lots of prying and and such. Squirt some WD40 on it too...same goes for the hangers if anyone has issues with those.
Shitt, i've already gone to it with a screw driver and hammer lol.... also put pb-blaster on it.... it really does not want to come off

dont know if you finally got it off or not, but it just took about 45 min of swearing, prying and giving the thing the evil eye. seriously though i think i remember just prying one edge and once that was over the flange, work it like a mother all the way around
Okay update.... after an hour with a sledge hammer i decided it was not coming off, or at least in one piece. Broke out the sawzall and cut that f****** bolt in half
... Replaced it with one that won't rust.
Also, why couldn't they just use the same type of gasket that's at the top of the downpipe? This flange and vband are the biggest PITA ever, even getting it back on took a bit of work
