I finally did it!!!

Ever since 2003 when I discovered The MINI, thank you "Italian Job", I have always wanted one even though I never thought I would ever be able to afford one. Between 2003 and now I have read thousands of posts from NAM and MINI2 learning more and more about the MINI. I would like to thank everyone here at NAM and MINI2 for getting me through those tough years and showing me repeatedly why MINI is such a great car.

Now to the good stuff,

Last Friday I finally ordered my MCS . Now comes the dreaded waiting period but a couple months is better than 6 years!

Here are the specs for my MCS
Dark Silver MCS, Premium, Sport and Convenience Package, Black web spoke wheels, Automatic(i can't drive a manual in Houston Traffic), Heated Mirrors and Washers jets, Rear Fog Lamps, Center arm rest, Punch leather seats, Chrome Line interior, Anthracite Headliner, Interior Surface piano black, Dark Grey color line and Hi-Fi sound system.

I can't wait for it to arrive!

Nice options selection. But heated mirrors/washers in Houston??
Enjoy!

Thanks I like it too . I got the heated mirrors and washers jets because during the few winter months we have in Houston, it can get pretty cold in the mornings where the windows ice over and you can't see anything.

Congrats! I can only image how excited you must be after such a long wait! Sounds like you have a fantastic MINI picked out and hopefully it will be here before you know it!

Awesome! I put in my order last Saturday and am trying to deal with this wait also. I know it will be worth it though. I called ASK MINI on Tuesday and found out that my order isn't scheduled until the last week of this month. Hopefully yours is sooner than that. (and hopefully mine gets moved up!)

When I called the first time I was told July 2nd, I went into production yesterday. I ordered on the 10th. I think they give a late date at first just in case.

Congrats !

May I ask how much you paid OTD?
Silver is a nice color ~ dents/scratches(there are lot of jealous people out there ) are less visible.

Yeah I just saw that in your thread about your order. I was sort of content knowing that I had a week to look forward to. But after reading that yours went into production early, I'm all antsy and impatient now

Congrats, you'll love it!

I have a similar story; I was introduced to a Mini in `02 when they first came to the states from a guy who traveled extensively in Europe and apparently knew what a great car it was and bought one straight way. I finally got one in March and it was worth all 7 years waiting for it! Now I'm planning on the next one for the wife post-kids :-D

giddy like no other . I check my Mini's status like 3 times a day even though I know that it has not changed in one day.

Well on Monday I called my MA because i was thinking about adding something to my order, but he said that it was already being built. So hopefully yours won't be the last week of this month! Also, I am going to call ASK MINI just to make sure.

Well my MSRP was just under 32k so with tax and all that other good stuff it will probably be high 34K low 35K. People are just jealous because they don't have a MINI.

Congrats!

Congrats! I'm the same way...had wanted one for years. I ordered my horizon blue with white trim Cooper S on May 1st and picked it up this past Tuesday. One incredible machine!!! I love it. The wait is going to kill you though - drove me insane.

But isn't it so sweet when you get in it, immediately flip it to sport mode and peel out of the dealership? (I hope someone else did that too)

Once the car is at the port you can ease the wait by tracking it all the way here. I used several sites and knew where she was every day, found a picture of the ship and watched the ship arrive and leave every port until she got off in NY. I found that tracking her was a big part of the Mini experience.

My wife, on the other hand, did not. Every day when she came home from work her first words were, "No, I don't care where your car is today!!!!".

My girlfriend is almost the same way. I'll tell her what 866-ASK-MINI said that day, and she'll nod like she cares, but I know she doesn't. Although, I do know she's excited because she really likes convertibles. I picked her up in my friends 05 S Vert' to take her to the airport last summer and she was ecstatic (a complete surprise.) That was her first, and last, ride ever in a convertible.

I think the Mini convertable looks really great and it looks good with top up or down, which the Mustang does not. I owned a sports car convertable which I got after high school (don't ask how long ago that was) and liked it. Of course back then AC was an option only on a few cars and the rag top was cool. My only reason for not getting one now is you can not leave anything sitting on the seat or it is gone. Like the mail from the PO Box. Lets face it, there are not a lot of places to stash stuff in a Mini.
