Baron MINI: Anyone had experience?

I was wondering if anyone with a melted hood scoop has gotten theirs replaced from Baron MINI in Merriam Kansas. They are where I bought my MINI and I'm going on Saturday to get my oil changed as well as the tail-pipe recall (I know I'm behind on that, but I live 5 hours away!) Anyways, back to the melted scoop. If anyone has had experience with that, feel free to post your story and how they took care of it. Thanks!

Come on people! Has anyone had experience with their service department? I'm just wanting to know what to expect, especially after reading some of the horror stories about SA's at other dealers.

I haven't had the melted hood scoop problem, but I've used them for regular maintenace and for a couple of emergent items over the past 18 months. I've had great luck with them - they're attentive, responsive, and friendly. I expect that you'll get the same from them - good luck.

I appreciate your reply, and that the staff seems to be pretty good. I really though that this thread was going nowhere.

Got my last scheduled oil change two weeks ago at Baron. The service was very good. They emailed a survey and followed up on a question. Don't know if I will do after warranty work with them due to a three hour drive.

They've done all the service on my '03 MCS JCW (which I bought from them), and I recently bought an '09 Clubman S from them, so I guess you could say I'm a happy customer!

I think you'll be happy. If you're coming from 5 hours away, call ahead and make sure they have the new part you need. Also, does it need to be painted to match? Are you going to leave it while thay do that?

I don't think they can have the part available for when I arrive. I believe they first have to determine that the scoop melted due to engine heat and that it didn't get dented. I'm really hoping for a carbon fiber scoop. If they have one of those in stock and discount it, I might go ahead and purchase it. As long as they new scoop can withstand the engine heat, I would be 100% satisfied. The heat itself doesn't bother me.

Ha! I just have good, safe fun like everyone else. As everyone knows the engine already runs pretty hot, and when it gets a 100 degrees and with 90% humidity, you got a recipe for disaster.

Some dealers have done a "good will" replacement with a Carbon Fiber scoop.
It wouldn't hurt to ask..

I'm really hoping so! But I also think I would have to get all other carbon fiber parts...it's just my nature.
