So this morning I get into my 1 month young Cooper S and I notice that the sound system is completely shut down.

The screen that typically comes on above the CD player area is dark. I don't know if I accidentally switched something off or if this means there's some sort of electrical problem and I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue.

Yes I did, didn't seem to make a difference this morning.

But right now the Radio display is lit again like nothing ever happened. Freaky. Thanks though, hopefully it doesn't happen again and if it does, I might have to take it in.

That is weird. When I turn off my radio it shows time and date. I would say that was some sort of glitch, but if it would do it again I would take it to the dealer.

When my '09 radio is off, still get time on display.

Check your fuses, it nothing's blown then likely you are going to need a new radio. Keep us posted on what you find.

They said it is working again so seriously doubt it is a fuse. Most likely a flaky connection.
