Exactly. Just a touch darker and maybe a little tint of purple in it. Could have called it New Cool Blue.

Thanks for the posting, a very beuatiful shade of blue. However IMHO, I don't especially like that door edge guard; while practical, I think it detracts from the aesthetics of the body line.

Nice pics and thanks for posting them MinLes.

I guess that these photos just go to prove that like previous MINI colors the new Horizon Blue (HZB) has a bit of chameleon DNA in it.

Under differing amounts of light (e.g. full sunlight, shade, twilight, etc.) the color seems to take on a different character (compare them to the Chicago Auto show pics of HZB in a related thread). I have to agree with the consensus that it very much resembles Cool Blue (CB) but again it has overtones of other colors (as stated by CR&PW&JB where he says, "...maybe a little tint of purple in it.").

Darn if this just doesn't keep me guessing... I will have to excercise patience until I see it in person.

you do realize that door guard is just temporary and is removed by the dealer prior to delivery to the owner, right ?

Yep - it does look a lot like a darker Cool Blue. I'll be curious to see it in person and find out if it's a pearlescent paint like Cool Blue, or if it's just a metallic.

Yea, those pictures are in the shade and I don't think are very telling. I'd like to see it in various lights.

I did not know that the door guard was temporary. I look forward every day to learning something new. This qualifies as a new thing for me today.

Thanks!

All I've seen is a sample in the showroom. It just looked metallic to me, but I'd never be one to underestimate the nuances of these metallic paints.

MinLes thanks for the pictures mine came out of the factory today so I hope to see it in 3 or 4 weeks. My dealer will have a unsold car next week but I trying to deside if I want to see it on that car or wait for my car to come in and see if for the first time.

It's still there for the Cooper hardtop. It's not available for the S.
