NEW halo spot-lights install on R56 aero grille?

Hey guys, in the next few weeks im going to have a mod fest for my MINI......and I need help figuring out what kind of fog/spot lights to get. I have seen a few that I like on eBay ,these halogen, angle eye one look pretty cool IMO. What do you guys think, dose anyone have these on there MINI ??? If i get them i will most likely sand the silver on the back and paint it black.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&it em=150326460938

But will they even fit ? I want to mount them on my areo grille , without any holes if possible.

Thanks !

Cheap and ugly in my opinion. If you really want driving lights, then save up and get the OEM set for the r56. They look great and that is what I will be putting on my r53.

In my opinion those look fairly cheap. I would bet that in 2 years of driving those would be full of water and look very old. Avoid cheap ebay things, they are always too good to be true!

I have the oem ones, they are really high quality. But I know those are very expensive.

For you I would recommend Hella 500s if price is an issue. Hella is a real top notch brand and known for its quality and their price is similar to those you are looking at on ebay. Look on outmotoring.com, they have many options and they also sell correct oem mounting brackets.

Search for Hella 500ff on ebay, check those out. They look similar, same price, higher quality.

To answer your question about the mounting, I have the aero grill as well and to mount lights using the oem brackets you do need to cut a small hole that is completely hidden by the lamp.

Hope that helps.

It depends, do you want to use the stock switch or the one that comes with the kit.

I tink you need to figure out if you need driving lamps, or fog lamps. If you have an "S", you already have fog lamps and they are wired in already. If you want to put a set up on the grill, you may want driving lamps. Someone mentioned Hella, a good brand, someone else mentioned getting a set of OEM lamps, great idea, but expensive. I now have a set of PIAAs. I like them very much. But what alot of the folks mentioned is that you do get what you pay for, if you have to save up for a little more time, you may be better off in the long run. You do not want to put something on your car that will look like crap in no time at all.
I hope I haven't over stayed my visit.
I wish you many safe happy Miles,

Larry

Someone that really needed driving lights, would not tint their headlights. So if you are doing it for looks, then get something decent please. Ebay stuff dose not belong on our cars.
