R56 blackout finally done

I finally finished blacking out my MINI. After reading about the plastidip I decided to go that route because it was so inexpensive and I could go back to stock if I ever wanted to. It looked good for a couple of weeks, but after a few rock chips and washes it started to look pretty cheap. I was only missing the door handles and from what I have read here on NAM they are a pain in the butt to get off the car. After meeting Mike from www.aestheticreations.net he told me about a new molded product that he was coming out with and asked if I would be interested. I jumped at the offer. Originally I was just going to do the door handles and leave the plastidip on the rest of the pieces. After the door handles were installed I was so impressed that I peeled off the plastidip crap and had him do the rest of the car. Its like a drug, here is a little taste; I couldn’t leave his driveway without having the rest of the MINI done. It looks so good now. Here are a few pic that I took today after I washed the MINI and took off the cheap stripes that I had( NOT from aestheticreations). The pics are not the best it was getting dark.

Gas Cap

Tail Light Rings

Chrome completely covered. It is a tight fit and probably doesnt need it but there is double sided tape on it also. I have some pics from when we did the install. They are on another camera. I will try to post them tomorrow.

Did you use the black satin duplicolor wheel coating? How long have you had it and how has it held up?

I saw his painted wheels and they look great. It inspired me to paint mine.

I have had them painted for about a month now and they still look great. Just a few marks on them from hitting cones in autox. I think I would have missed the cones if I hadnt painted the wheels.
