I did a search and couldn't really find anything on this subject. I have the bluetooth and love it. Whenever I am on the phone and get in the car, the bluetooth picks up the call. My question is, what happens when I want to get out? So far the only thing I can figure out is to hang up the phone. There is an option on my phone to switch back to the headset, but the car still won't let the call go. Am I missing something simple?
On my iPhone it allows me to switch sources, the iphone or mini bluetooth. If Quickly change from the Mini bluetooth to the iPhone, I don't loose the call. Otherwise I loose the call.
Not an expert, since I don't have bluetooth in my car...but my husband does in his BMW. When you're on the phone and walking TO the car -- and then getting in -- the car automatically picks up on the bluetooth, although it takes a happy minute (or two.) THe same works for when you're talking in the car, and get out...it SOUNDS like you've been disconnected, but you haven't...it's just switching over again.
It's an LG AX 8600. I have the option to switch to headset, but the car still won't let the call go. So when I turn the car all the way off, it ends the phone call. I've even tried sitting in it for a few minutes to see if it quit, and it won't. Oh well. Not too big of a deal, and I really don't talk on my phone all that often... I just thought it was interesting.
Why don't you just try it w/ your phone and see what happens?
(in my Mini and with my phone the connection remains, the conversation either goes from the car speaker system or to the phone depending on whether I am getting in or out of the car).

Even better, is being in the house on the phone when your significant other turns the car on in the driveway. If you're close enough (~150ft) suddenly the call is gone!

That's funny!!
Or when you've paired your phone with HIS car the one day you drove it, forgot all about it, and he almost drives off the road when your phone is picked up by his bluetooth, and he's calling strange people.

Did you mean the LG VX8600? If that's the case, that's the same as mine. You just shut the bluetooth off and the call is then in the handset. It works great. With the phone you can customize the arrow buttons to be different shortcuts. I customized the up-arrow to open the BT menu on the phone. Then I just select "off" and the call's in the handset.
