FINALLY, I got it, I know what his name is...

I've bought 3 minis since march. My final '08 is laser blue with white roof, etc, etc...

Everyone has named their cars and I've never done that ever nor was I able to think of a name for any of the other minis.

The harder I tried, the worse it got.

I JUST went outside to open the garage door and BAM, his name is Ernie.

I don't know why, I didn't even know he was a he.

But now I know his name...

Congrats on coming up with Ernie

But what about the other two MINIs? Won't they feel left out?

Nice name choice for your MINI.

Now get to work on naming the other two.

Oh, that's easy. I got rid of the first two....lol. It's Ernie by himself.

It was just wierd. I've tried for months to come up with a name for any of the minis and absolutely couldn't think of one. And I finally gave up.

And then this morning, I went in the garage and there he was... ERNIE. Not sure why but that's his name.

That's how Charlie got his name. Just happens that way sometimes.

Mind me asking what the problems were, if any, with the first two?

No, not at all....

The first one was an '05 cabrio that I bought from a highline dealer in Colorado.

The car wasn't in the condition I expected nor did it have the options he claimed.

He bought the car back.

The second one was an '06 Cabrio I bought fairly local with 10K miles. It was FLAWLESS and had everything I wanted.

I drove to the beach with my 10 and 13 y/o in the back seat. I hadn't really paid attention but the back seat spacing was not the same as a coupe.

It was so uncomfortable for them and I had a long trip planned to Fl. that I went to trade it in on a clubman. (I really didn't need the space, we've still got an H2, 4 dr. wrangler and a mustang... each and every one of them bigger than the mini...lol)

Anyway, went to buy a clubman and saw Ernie sitting on the showroom floor. Since the coupe is smaller than a clubman but larger than a cabrio, he's now at home with me.

I still like the thought of a clubman but I really like the looks of a coupe.

So, now you know the rest of the story.... (sorry you asked, huh?)

Cool story. The coupe is my favorite among the MINIs.

Welcome Ernie and Hi again orangecrush! The naming thing is just the way it works...My car waited a whole year before telling me what it's name is...And still hasn't told me if it's a boy or a tomboy-girl!

You can still get a "Robbie" and a "Chip" to fill out the family.

Thanks everyone, my wife thinks I'm stupid and I've never named a car before but talk about knowing the right thing at the right time.

Eric, (plug guy) aren't you in Mooresville, Lake Norman area?
