Mud Flaps Anyone??

Has anyone seen or tried the front and rear mud flaps? I haven't even seen a picture of a MC with them on this forum. What's the general feeling about this accesorie? Thank's!

They look good, I'm going to get them for my MCS PW/B.

Do a search for them, there are some pictures around here somewhere.

I have both front and rear on my 07 MY MCS. They seem to work fine and blend right in.

Now, the question is, did you guys got it from the dealer or aftermarket? I want to know what's the cheaper way to do it. I will install them by my self regardless.

I ordered in June; was going to go with the mudflaps. My MA quoted me a price of $270 installed for the mudflaps. That seemed a little steep. Not to hijack this thread, but is that a reasonable price? My MA made it sound like it was 2-3 hours to install them.

Bought the mudflaps at the dealer, installed them myself. They wanted way too much for installation.

Note: the chrome woman is Photoshoped onto the photo as a joke for another thread. I wouldn't really put something like that on my car.

You can get the flaps cheap from Classic MINI using your NAM discount. Adam wrote some good instructions and there are some others too.

The installation is not technical just time consuming. It took me a couple hours because I took off all the wheels and washed front and back. If I did them again I could probably finish in an hour.

Try searching before posting idential questions. Here are some installation instructions:

The cheapest way is to duct tape some cardboard to the wheel wells and be done with it.

A reasonable way is to order the factory ones from the dealer or an after market place and install yourself.

Moss Motors has the fronts for $26.95, rears for 34.95 and a link to the pdf of the official MINI install instructions. Really not a hard install and they fit perfectly.

Instructions

They do keep stuff from being thrown down the side of the car.

I just had the dealer put mudflaps on my Cooper recently, I think they are great. I hope they save the paint work a bit.

Love them!!

Got both front and rear on my R56S and I LOVE them. The fronts really help in keeping the leading edge of the rear fender flares from getting chewed up by road debris. Get them!
