R56 Much props to MINI of Concord in Cali
Much props to MINI of Concord in Cali
First off...I purchased my MCS from Mini of Concord and a very good experience with the sale staff, so I was expecting the same level from the service department. When I booked my appointment the admin I was dealing with couldn't tell me if I would get a loaner car. But low and behold a day later I got a call that said I would get a loaner due to unknown length of service for Winston. When I got there I dealt with Shana Bates, and she was very friendly and sympathetic toward my car issues. Most of them small, but one major one. When I was getting ready to pick up my loaner car, she informed me that all the Minis were out still
They expected one back but it did not come in. She then asked me if a Z4 would be okay, or if I needed a 4 door vehicle (probably the 328i I saw out front). I told her the Z4 would be fine

The minor issues were taken care of, but my sunroof issued took a little longer (see sunroof issue in the stock problems threads). The weather was not cooperating as it got cool all of sudden. Sad to say they had my car for almost 2 weeks
But I got to do a lot of top down cruising...even took it out for a date
Throughout the 2 weeks, they called me every time they promised with updates. I wasn't too worried because I had a replacement car, and I wanted it fixed. In fact they kept the car 2 extra days after they fixed it because they wanted to make sure the sunroof worked in all temperatures. I like that
And when Shana wasn't available, I worked with David. He's a track junkie so we talked cars for too long. Both were very nice, and very apologetic about the delays. Needless to say I gave Shana all 5's on her service grading. She and Mini of Concord deserved it. I would bring my MINI back there again if need be.
Now if the sunroof issue comes back, then I won't be worried. I know they will do their best to take care of it.

That is great to hear.
I can't say much about my MINI service department although the techs are great but not the SA as I learned very quickly. My car has spent a numerous amount of time there as you can see from my threads.

Concord MINI are the best! For servicing unforntunately I won't be going back to them because of shear distance (I live in downtown San Francisco). Hopefully MINI SF is just as good in servicing.
Jason is good people. I would highly recommend buying from Jason if you are in the Bay Area.
Actually I dealt with Jason in 2003...but didn't buy. I ended up working with Claro and he was a nice guy!!! Their sales people rock!

Yeah I live in SJ so Ill go to Mountain View for servicing....but if its anything major (hopefully not) then I guess Ill go back to Concord since you definately get a loaner if you go back to the place you purchased from.
The local BMW dealership here is horrendous, I have been dealing with that dealership for years and never in my 25 years in the automotive business have I seen such a bunch of snooty, arrogant snobs. I'm embarassed for them.
The local mini dealer is much nicer and down to earth. So far, I'm unsure about the competance of their service dept but I'll see how they handle my sunroof issue.
Anyway, glad to hear there are some good dealerships out there.

Mini of Concord is awesome.
First class all the way in both sales and service.
I've had my car for two months and had to take it in on three different occasions for minor warranty issues dealing with defective trim pieces and most recently the little amber gear symbol with the exclamation appeared in my tach. I also showed the service advisor David where some of that damn cosmoline oozed on my front fender moldings leaving a stain. David made an appointment for me to bring the car in this week. He immediately reserved a loaner for me. He said they will keep my car all day or maybe longer and go over it with a fine tooth comb and remove all traces of cosmoline. If anything has been damaged by the cosmoline they will replace the parts. He apologized as well for the problem. He also was very familiar with NAM and said he reads it all the time. On all three service appointments when I went back to pick up my car it was washed and detailed both inside and out. I live about 7 minutes from M of C and they also have a shuttle service that takes local residents back to their homes or to the BART station to go to work if no loaner is needed. They also pick you up from your home or BART when your car is done.
I also had an outstanding experience with the purchase of my Mini at Concord. My MA Mari was awesome and a pleasure to deal with. I placed the order on March 1. She got me in for a March production slot even though the month's orders had been submitted. My car was built and on the dock waiting for a ship less than two weeks after placing the order. When I went to pick up the car, she went over the entire car with me, installed my USB/iPod cable and took pictures of me driving off the showroom floor where my car was waiting for me (locked of course) on delivery day.
Finally they are an MSRP dealer. There were no hidden fees or markups when I went to pick up my car. Best new car buying experience I've had.
