MINI Division just sent me a PM regarding my '08 MCSa

I wasn't sure what is going on but it seems MINI USA does monitor NAM for trouble with the MINI Coopers and then contact the individuals directly to offer assistance.

Anyway I received a PM from Charlene Banks Internet Research Analyst and responded to her PM with my information regarding the problems that keep happening to my '08 MCSa of late in such a short period of time and a representative will be contacting me back.

I would guess others have been contacted too by PM from MINI Division recently or in the past and wondered what can I expect from this?

Thanks.

I've never been, but I'm hardly surprised. It would be incredibly foolish for MINIUSA to ignore NAM when they've got a free (to them) customer feedback and awareness tool. Given NAMs size, it is also a powerful force in the MINIverse and keeping bad feelings out of rotation would be a paramount objective for anyone in corporate marketing or relations.

I had a problem with my passenger side headlight, it would not work. I posted a question, and then I swapped the ballast from driver to passenger and passenger to driver. This fixed the problem. MINI USA emailed me and said they were going to have someone call me. They did and I explained what I did and the results. He said that if I have anymore issues with it to contact him directly.

About a week later the headlight would not work again, I called and left message after message, finally he called back and said he would look into it and get back to me. After about a week I called and left messages but never got a return call, that was about 18 months ago.

How did that work out for me?

It is nice they read NAM, e-mail and make a call, but in my case that is all it was. NO help and NO followup.

Goodluck.

Feel your pain for the unusual amount of 'issues' you have suffered with your MINI,
especially that odo/reset that the Dealer Service dropped the ball on.

Your early posts were very helpful for my buying decision, with your reporting from South Florida.

Given the topic, this thread would be better served on the Stock Problems/Issues Board.

Glad to hear that MINI is being responsive for you.

Take a look at the post's by MINIDivision. Was your PM worded substantially the same way?

I agree that the initial outreach is cool, but public follow through would be far cooler!

If they they start asking you for 2000 dollars to help release funds held in escrow because a King died and didn't have a next of kin....

Be careful of what you give out, especially personal information.

LOL.

Back on topic
To OWG it seems that link won't work as I keep getting this message:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
This is the PM I received:
Offer of Assistance
I’m with MINI USA. I’m sorry to read about this issue with your Mini. If you would like our assistance, please reply with your name, phone number or email address and VIN, and one of our representatives will get back to you.

Charlene Banks
Internet Research Analyst
MINI USA/ BMW North America
I responded so I will see if I do get contacted some time next week being this is now Friday.

Thank you OWG.

I've just read the post and then did a search on all the posts by MINI Division and it seems to be what is called a "canned reply" in the threads with no further reply just the same comment over and over.

Now what I got was a direct PM from Charlene Banks (posted by me as you can see) and no "canned reply" in any of my posted problem threads.Granted I do not know if those that got a post in there respective threads what was or wasn't taken care of directly by MINI USA though.

A Brief Update

Charlene Banks from MINI Division of MINI USA/BMW North America responded to my PM back to her and called me this afternoon.I spoke with her for some time as she was also reviewing all of my threads posted on NAM regarding the problems I am having with my '08 MCSa.I gave her all of the repair order dates my car was in for service and the problems that occurred with it.I did mention to her that I am afraid of what will break next on it.I also mentioned to her that the date I bought my car was AFTER the delivery date that is in the computer print out at the dealership which lowers my warranty period also.My car had arrived at the dealership the day before I bought it and wasn't prepped for sale yet which they did while I waited to take delivery.

My case has now been assigned to specialist at their office that works with this kind of situation to help me.

When I know more I will post that to keep everyone updated.

I'm impressed with mini usa! I don't see other brands going onto blogs to monitor whats going on with the owners of there cars.
Another reason that makes this such a great car to own.

Thanks you both.

It was a very pleasant surprise to me that MINI USA takes the time to make sure their customers are satisfied with their cars and to approach the members directly by PM here on NAM.

I belong to a couple of other car related message boards for a long time now and no other car manufacturer even takes the time to log on or read them.
