Removing Seats '08
My 2008 MCS is on the ship now (or at least I believe it is - no way to confirm yet). I'm planning on buying some 303 fabric guard and treating the seats ASAP after delivery. Question: Any difference on pulling the seats vs a 2006? I've pulled my wife's front seats and it's much easier to clean under and treat the seats that way. Second question: How hard is it/what's involved with pulling the back seat?
To me it's just a lot easier to do that and not have to worry about overspray.

Pulling the rear seat is pretty much trivial. There's one bolt in the center in the back that needs to be undone. Lift up the center and slowly pull and rotate out from the side. To pull up the seat, pull out the LATCH connectors, pull up the front and then (and this is non-intuitive) push down in the center of the bottom.
Note that mine is an '08 Cabrio, so the form factor is a bit different, but the concept is the same.

My Mini is also on the water, on it's way .
I planned to pull the rear seat out as well, but my plan is to leave it out for extra room ( I don't intend on having more than one passenger at any time ). I'm a field service rep, and carry parts for office equipment. The amount of parts I need to carry these days has diminished to the point that the Mini will make a perfect service vehicle.
I'm curious about seats having harnesses ( which shows how long it's been since I had a new vehicle, 305k on my third Toyota 4wd pickup ). Does the rear seat have any electronics hooked to it?
Many thanx!

Thank Goodness. I didn't even think of that when I pulled the seats out of the 2006. That would've been a shocker. Working under the seats popping off plugs and BOOM!

no, the airbags won't go off when you disconnect the seats...but if you unplug and the key is in the ignition or you turn on the car while they are unplugged it throws an error code which can only be reset by the stealer.
