R56 Did you receive anything from MINI after purchase?
We've had our Mini less than a week and we managed to get the dealer to throw in a roof rack and ski attachment. How, you ask? Well, we referred a friend to our MA, and over the phone our MA offered our friend a $500 accessory allowance if he purchased through him.
We basically said for the kind referral we'd like a similar deal. We told him what we really wanted was the roof rack and ski attachment, he said they would take care of it. It should be in the process of shipping our way. We bought the rubber floor mats separately.
I'm interested in the "adventure kit" though! Sounds like some fun goodies.

Just got my adventure kit - 3 months after taking delivery of the car.
Not much useful in it. Smiley antenna ball clashes with my Chili Red, so not gonna use it. Mouse pad is okay. I do like the pen and the journal - I'll use it to make notes on service, gas milage, other points of interest. The sticky word thing for the windows is never, ever going to get used - not in the car at least. Maybe my kids can use it on the sliding glass door in the house?
Anyway, nice gesture. Could have been more timely. Would rather have gotten a t-shirt or baseball cap.

Where is your dealer?!
I got my kit today. July 19 was when I took delivery.
8Ball, pen, journal, window cling words, mouse pad, some Mini motoring propaganda. Box said it was for a Cooper, not an S. The pen is cool. More then I ever got from Jeep.
Oh and I got a condom that says MINI on it. That's about right.
Their marketing is top notch. Always leave the customer wanting more

From my dealer, I received the floor mats, 2 MINI pens, 4 keychains and a stuffed bulldog with a MINI shirt. Haven't received anything directly from MINI yet, but it's only been a month since I took delivery.
I'm also not aware of any magazines that MINI advertise in.... and i didn't receive a journal!
I once saw some Mini cooper stickers in an issue of Car and Driver I got about 3 years ago. Yet, haven't seen any Mini ads in auto magazines in at least several years.

To answer your question about using the Top Secret tools: there was a feature on MINIUSA's Owner's Lounge just before the first MTTS that required the use of the red glasses. It involved a guy with a silver suitcase, whom I missed seeing while at MTTS LA.
Reading this thread I see that the spirit of the original inhabitants is still intact. They were just as pleased when they received glass beads from the British in exchange for New England.
Fritz is obviously a good student of history.
