New R56 owner!! Woot woot!!!

So hey everyone, I managed to get a steal of a deal on one of the last 07 r56's from my cousin who works in Boston at Herb Chambers. I managed to get it for four grand off list AND the dealership picked up the tax tab!
It is a DS/Blk r56 with comfort access, sport, premium, cold weather, and conveinience.
My only problem with it is that its not real leather, its leatherette .

So now, onto the questions!!
I was looking for a bunch of pics on JCW body kits for the r56. My cousin has one on his r56 and I decided it would look awesome but does anyone have pics of a DS r56 with the body kit?
Also it doesnt really matter the color of the car but i would like pics on the JCW spoiler for the r56 as well. Ive heard mixed opinions and I cant find any real closeups.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and pics will come soon once this weather breaks and she gets a long bath

Sweet deal, congrats!

I'm going back and forth on the JCW body kit myself. Love the side skirts, and the rear bumper is quickly growing on me, but I'm unsure about the front. Also my MINI is lowered, so I can only imagine how much it'd scrape with that front bumper.
Other issue is price. Morristown, who is know for their amazing prices, quoted me ~$3000 installed. With your cousin working at a MINI dealer you may have better luck though.

Can't help but to ask because of your name, are you in high school? Not judging, I'm only 2nd year in college.

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered to the dealer. It left VPC today and should be at the dealer in a day or so then the dealer will prep everything and in my hands in a few days after that :D

Just picked mine up today, white roof though:

It was $2550, I've seen others usually mention in the range of $2000-2500 more or less over the last few months I've been reading here. It also came with the JCW door sills which was nice (I never mentioned them when ordering), although I have no clue if that's just a thing they do when they install at the VPC or if they come with the ordered kit.

Also if you have some picture editor that has a desaturation brush setting (or just desaturate the whole image), you can use it on most pictures of red and blue minis to get an approximation of what they would look like in dark silver (depending on lighting). It's a trick I used a lot when deciding on some stuff.

Re: scraping - I lightly scraped leaving the dealer parking lot on a really shallow dip...I have no clue how considering I was going really slow. I think it scraped the cheap air deflector pieces underneath though, not the front. At least the mini has relatively short overhangs, so I'm hoping it's not a big issue, particularly since my last car is a Tacoma with something like 10" of ground clearance. On the other hand, I'm used to driving paranoid with my brother's 3 series, just have to do it more often now.

The door sills are a part of the kit. They're really just a sticker that covers some of the guts of the side skirts.

There was a pic of a DS R56 with the composite rims that was the deciding factor with me getting the JCW aero kit, let me see if I can dig it up.

Also, you could buy the kit, have it sprayed locally and install it yourself to save some significant cash. The install doesn't involve putting the car on jacks or anything like that, its mostly held together with some screws and a few clips.

Edit: Here's what I've found so far:

Yes I am in my last few weeks of High School actually, hence the reason I have yet to get pics up of my new baby, graduation, prom, college, etc all that is getting hectic.

According to my cousin who works at the dealership he got his JCW body kit and a JCW strut brace for $1700 and figure he had a friend install it since he didnt pay for that. the kit made up $1400 of that price and he said it comes painted!
He's going to get back to me today with the price of the body kit and the price of a JCW spoiler (I like that piece a lot). So I will update as I get some info

He's wrong. The only way to have the kit pre-painted is to purchase it with the car and have the VDC install it. If you buy it after-the-fact, it will come primered but unpainted.

Not only that, note that this is his second MINI......he previously had a 1st Gen too.

I had a '65 Mustang when I was in HS. Sure wish I still had it.

Im pretty dang lucky, I had to arrange the downpayment for my first MINI and make atleast half the monthly payments to keep her and to get my second one I had to make sure the payments didnt go up much, which wasnt tooo difficult

Yes this is true, that first MINI i paid list for though, and I still had about 8K financed on it when i traded it for my second gen. I miss it, but the r56 is very easy to fall in love with in its own MINI way .

Plus my cousin is keeping me posted on the where abouts of my past and still loved r53 and is going to let me know when she gets bought up so I can hopefully meet her new owner

That was my thought to but I talked to him yesterday and he said that primed, and then said he meant painted But he said it was a change they did for the second gen's that theyre putting them out for sale painted, maybe because it was a hassle for the dealer to paint the r53 body kits?

Unless this has changed in the last couple of months, or its different for his particular dealership, they come primered, not painted.

I know because I tried to get the same deal. Actually I even went as far as buying the kit with the car but having it come separate (so I could install it myself and sell the old bumpers). They wouldn't even go for that.

Sweet!!! Definitely not hating, would have been awesome to have my MINI in high school.

If you are able to get it for that price then that'd be great. Definitely keep us posted! Oh and love the color combo - DS/B is so sharp.
When do the mods begin!?!

The motor is gonna stay stock until I can afford a stage 2 JCW pacakge, but im looking for a JCW body kit first, then a JCW wing

BTW the decided price for the kit PAINTED was $1478.26 and the wing is another five hundred or so. f@#$in carbon fiber pieces

^ wow coincidences, such a small forum, yea I pretty much decided to go for the body kit first, and the wing will have to wait about a month while i save up a paycheck or two. And your father's new MCS is GORGEOUS! I actually saw your MCS as well on the other thread and was trying for closeups on the JCW wing but coudlnt manage. Do you have any? And also is it as sturdy as the factory sport wing?
