window won't stay UP

My 08' r56 driver's side window will not stay UP. If I single tap or hold the **** up, the window goes all the way up and then immediately goes down half way. I've tried everything to remedy this including attempting to "reset" by holding the window up for 10 seconds, but nothing seems to work. The window just refuses to stay up and always ends up in the half way position. I end up having to put the window as close to fully up as I can using the ****, but not all the way. Hope this makes sense. The passenger side is fine.

Sorry if there's a thread somewhere on this, but I wasn't able to find anything after an exhaustive search.

Please Help! Thanks.

Take it to the dealership. It's under warranty and they will fix or re-place any problems.

I'd have to go down & check our car, but there's likely a harness connector at the front of the door. If there is, unplug it for 15-20 seconds, then try resetting the pinch protection again.

I could be wrong, but I believe to reset window indexing, you must hold button DOWN while window is in down position, then release and roll up.

Regardless, your problem sounds like it is much more involved. Best of luck and keep us posted on what you learn.

Brought it to the dealership yesterday and they "reset" the electrical system or something along those lines - sounds like what n1tr0 suggested. Window is working aok now and they said if I have any more issues, I can bring it back. Paying $140 for an oil change was fun too. Wanted to the first one to be at the dealership. From here on out I'm taking it elsewhere. Thanks for all your help folks.

It should be a faulty or broken belt that keeps the windows up. This happened with my friend's maxima and it was fixed once we changed that belt. As you car is new and under warranty the dealer should fix it.
