2007-08 illustration-am I getting it?

I tried illustrating an 07-08 oxygen blue MCS. This is one of my fave colors. Have a look. What am I getting wrong? Besides the color, does the body, etc., look right? And what about the rest? Too busy?

Thanks for your input!

Huh- pretty cool! Missing the antenna on the roof, I think the grille needs something different also. Nice work.

I wish I had your talent! Very nice. Since you asked for opinions, I do think the perspective of the left front fender and headlight looks slighty off compared of the rest of the car. But that's looking for nits. If you feel it's too busy you could lower the opacity of the flag.

I've got a project in mind for which I need to learn to do this too.

Good work.

The headlights' perspective does seem off-kilter. Maybe it's because the shading on the bonnet seems to be evoking the R53 curves more than the R56 for me.

What did you do it in?

To me the wheels being blurred doesnt look right.
Also the logo coming through the glass doesnt give the image depth. You need some interior reference, dash, seats, etc
Other than that i think you go the proportions pretty close. i like the flag!
Here is on of my car i did a while back.

You cannot put Oxygen Blue on an MCS....or a cabrio...or a Clubman!! That's just wrong!!!!! Best to go w/ Laser Blue.

might think about changing the angle of the grill mesh so that it runs straight with the edges.

Other than that it looks great!

Well done...you did the fog light area really well The gas cap was well done too

I like the ripped flag effect....how'd you do it?

One thing you might want to try is adding a little more definition to the arches. That should add some nice depth to the image.

I just recently did an r56 illustration as well as an Audi one for my buddy

Nice job. Your MINI seems lower than they seem to me.

Also, the Oxy Blue kind of clashes with the flag colors. You need to lower the color saturation in the flag. Is the 2008 MCS available in Oxy Blue? The 2007 isn't.

Thank you all! I agree with all you said. I CANNOT believe I forgot the: antenna; washer nozzles; & wipers! Plus I didn't put a wing on it, which is possible I guess.

I had a hard time with the headlight/fender orientation. I did it in Illustrator and Photoshop. I'm still learning! I tend to cram too much in to one design I think.

The torn flag I did just by creating a vector of the Union Jack, rasterizing it in Pshop, and pretty much tore it up by making selections with the lasso tool, and free transform/warping the selections after I copied them to their own layer.

What else do I have to do all day anyway!? : )

oh and sorry about the Oxygen Blue on an MCS--to be honest I didn't realize!!! I just love that color.

Flippin sweet as Napoleon D. would say! I think that green is a must for MINI! If I repainted my CR, I would want that green!
