Did iPhone update screw up my Bluetooth connection?

Has anyone had problems with the iphone update (1/16/08) causing conflicts with their blue tooth operation on the '08 MCS? Trying to figure out if it's a MINI issue or an iphone issue. The MINI blue tooth system/iphone worked fine before the update....but both the phone and the car are new.

I have a MCS '08 with Comfort Access/ blue tooth mobile phone prep.

iPhone update did screw up bluetooth operation in pretty much all cases (it seems). Does it cutoff right in the middle of a call etc?

Some say, the only way to fix it (until a new firmware release comes out) is to save all your information and then do a Restore to Factory Settings... then reload and re-pair your bluetooth. That seems like a lot of a pain to me... so I havent done it yet.

That's helpful. It would be worth it to me do go though the reinstating the phone, etc. If anyone else has had this experience, it would be helpful to know! Thanks.

After I updated the phone, I had some issues. I deleted the phone from my MINI and re-paired it and it works just fine now.

What issues are you having? I have 1.13 and Comfort Access (on a late 07) and haven't noticed any problems. In fact, it got even better once I turned the Wi-Fi off!

Yeah, Apple says you have to keep the WiFi off, as it conflicts with the Blue Tooth. Problems I have had is that it cycles in and out of connection. I just tested the iphone with another car (Parrot system) and it works fine there.

I'm running 1.1.3 on my iphone w/ an 08 MCS and mine works as advertised. No issues at all. Good luck on your fix!

Did resetting the firmware on the phone work?

Did you try un-pairing and then re-pairing the phone?

There is a known issue with Apple about 1.1.3 not working with some BT devices that the phone previously worked with. I have seen a few people commenting on this, however mine works just fine with the R56 BT kit.

Yes, I did both of those things. Still cycling on and off. Tell me...I am new to all this, what is the "R56" people refer to? Missed that somewhere along the line.

The only version of firmware the Mini has tested is 1.0.2. Any other version you are using at your own risk and may not function at all. I ran into the same thing with another phone when I upgraded the firmware.
