R56 De-Chromed : COMPLETE!
De-Chromed : COMPLETE!
Well, my carbon fiber door handles, gas cap, and side markers arrived from Aesthetic Creations and the de-chroming process on my Mini is finally complete!
I absolutely love the new pieces that I got from Mike at AC! They are very high quality and match my JCW carbon fiber pieces EXACTLY! These are real carbon fiber pieces - the gas cap is a complete replacement, the chrome parts of the side markers just pop out and you replace them with the CF pieces, and the door handles are covers. I love that the door handle covers are easy to install (because I read that it's a real pain to change out the door handles), plus, I've got the comfort access door handles too so that would have been extra difficult if not impossible!
Anyways, I'm still waiting on the bottom piece of my hypersport grill surround but that's in the mail now and my new wing which should also be arriving soon.
Let me know what you guys think!
Thanks for looking,
Celia

Thanks for the compliments everyone!!!
Well for those, you know, you've gotta know a guy who knows a guy...
I believe he does! He should have them available to order for both the regular door handles and the comfort access ones.
Thanks,
Celia

I'm pretty sure those are OZ Ultraleggera's.
By far the nicest aftermarket wheels that suit the MINI, in my opinion of course.
I'll get some for summer, but will probably have to stick with 17's. The roads here are terrible.
Edit: mikeg4572, did you edit your post? I swear you asked which wheels those were. Am I losing my mind? :D

That looks fantastic (and I'm a chrome lover, LOL)!
The only thing I think you might want to do is find a smoked lens for the side vent marker. That bright white one stands out a bit much against all that black and carbon.
You could also go with an orange one from a Cooper to go with your brakes and other indicator lighting. . .now that I think about it, I'd definitely go orange there. . .

Thanks guys! I'm also thinking of adding a splitter to the front but I'm not sure which ones will fit the HyperSport body kit. Also, I'm a little concerned with ground clearance...
I would! But I'm worried about the baking process...I have the tinted headlight film on it now so I think I'll probably leave it as is for the time being. Who knows though, I may one day get up the courage to Joey mod it! Black headlights would be sweet!
I don't know if Mike has them on his website yet but he had a group buy for them on NAM a few weeks ago.
In the group buy thread, someone else had asked about flat/gloss black and I believe Mike said he would start working on that as well for people who were interested. I don't know where he is in the production of the black ones but I know he's working on it.
Thanks for the suggestions! I was actually thinking of doing something about the white side marker lens but wasn't sure what. The suggestion for the orange lens is a good idea. I had bought some extra Laser Blue vinyl from Lyle at Vinyl Styles and was going to cover up the fender reflectors with it but ended up leaving them the way they were. If I were to change the side marker lens to the MC orange ones, that might go pretty well with the brakes and the fender reflectors!
Thanks! I really love the splash of orange color the brakes give to the overall look of the car.
Thanks,
Celia
