Are R53 and R56 17" Wheels Interchangeable?

Just checking to see if the 17" eight spoke crowns are the same for R53 and R56 wheels. TIA

These wheels are off an R53. I believe they're from an '05 MCS. I bought them from a guy over Ebay.

07 wheels will work on any year. the first half of 06 and earlier wheels will not fit the 07. lugbolts are different sizes.

edit:

I just noticed you haven't gotten your MINI yet. You will have the new tire pressure monitoring system.
That cuts down on your options quite a bit.

All OEM wheels have holes large enough to accommodate either size wheel bolt.

All 15" OEM wheels and all 1st Gen 16" OEM wheels (except the R87 and R94) will NOT fit the R56 MCS because of it's larger front brakes. All 17" and 18" OEM wheels will fit either Generation MINI.

Ahhhh..... That makes sense. So the white car above has indeed 17's from 05 MCS.

Yes ... the R85 (S-spoke or S-lite) was replaced by the R104 (Crown-spoke) when the R56 was introduced.
