Xenon headlamps - do they self-correct?

I saw a friend's new Acura wagon last night. They've also got Xenons, and when they turned the car on last night, the lights were amazing! They automatically self-leveled to the street, and were not blinding to oncomers (ok, I went and stood in front of their car and squatted down! )

I don't have my baby yet. . .hopefully by next weekend. . .and my newest car is a '98 Saturn. It doesn't have cool stuff like this!

So. . . long way to a short question~ Do the MCS Xenons self-correct when you start the ignition?

Thanks!

Yes, they do. This is the first car I've had with them and they are really nice. I live in the mountains where there are lots of "critters" on the roads at night and the Xenons help a lot.

Awww, nice to help save the critters anytime!
Thanks for the info! I've read a lot here about how people dislike the Xenons, and was hoping that the 07s were a bit more on-comer friendly!

In the US

all Xenon apps requrie both auto-leveliing and headlight washers. This is to reduce oncoming discomfort. The levelers for when the car is pointing up a bit, and the washers to prevent scatter at the glass.

Has anyone else had issues with the auto leveling feature? It seems that on my MCS the beams are aiming higher than they should causing others to constantly throw on their high beams at me. Would love to adjust the beam level. Anyone know how to do that on an '07?

Chris, I have seen pictures of how to adjust the aim of the headlights in another thread here on NAM. Basically I think there is one screw on each light that adjusts the up/down angle. Search the threads, you'll find it.

Two things to check

the aim and the levelers. On the 02-06, the levelers are adjusted where they bolt onto the control arms in the rear, not sure on the fronts. Probably the same. Aim is at the light assembly. Keep both in mind..... Also, if you lower your car, you should ajdust the levelers...

Look at the back of the headliht assembly. There is a white nylon screw (allen and phillips head). That will adjust the lights.

With xenons, you have to get them just right, or either you annoy oncoming traffic or can't see far enough ahead. Mine came adjusted way too low and it was dangerous if I didn't have my high beaans on.
