A few questions about the 2007 MINI...

I purchased my mini in March, and I love it. There are only a few problems/questions I have with it, and I hope you guys can help :D

1) I set the time to be in standard, and the blinker to 3 blinks. Seemingly random times I start the car, the blinker is reset to 1, and the time is in 12 hour division. It will fluctuate between the two settings.

2) Is there ever any new "software" updates to the minis? For example, to fix the above problem, or if they come up with a new idea. Like the lock button on the remote, if you hold it, it could roll up your windows, and close the roof. If so, how do I know if they release an update?

3) When I clean my car, I like to have the radio on, and the doors open. When I do this, I need to have the key in the ignition. This causes the annoying beep to go on indefinitely. Is there any way to either play the radio while the doors are open, or turn off the beeping?

Thanks for any answers or suggestions you guys might have!

1) Each key (you recieve two) records its own personal settings. So if you only applied the settings you described to one of the keys, then went to drive the car with another key, those settings will not apply as that other key still has the default settings.

2) As far as I know, you can not program windows to go up with the press and hold the lock button presumably for liability reasons.

3) I think you can turn the radio on without turning on the ignition (just press the power button and the audio should work) Otherwise, roll down the windows and close the doors. Or buy a boombox.

1) You were given two fobs, each one stores certain preferences so different drivers can have things the way they want. If you set the preferences on only one, but use both, your settings could change when you switch fobs.

2) There are software updates. Contact your dealer. I ordered in March and picked up in May. The vocie activation on my NAV doesn't work. I need to take it in for a software upgrade.

3) I have the Comfort Access, so I don't have the door open beep.

Wow! Not only your answers were fast, they were informative. I didn't know that each key had different settings. That's fantastic! Thanks again guys!
