R56 Racing stripe on side bottom with "MINI" in it - who has one
Racing stripe on side bottom with "MINI" in it - who has one
Saw a post here somewhere with the bonnet/racing strip along the bottom/side with MINI in the middle of it - is this a Mini option or did someone do a custom job??
MightyStripes has some:

I wasn't too impressed with my experience with them, but none of my problems had to do with the actual quality of the vinyl, so don't let that put you off.

I wasn't happy with my dealings with MightyStripes, either. I didn't like their vinyl, either. Take a look at the side stripes Aesthetic Creations has. Cooper Flags is another possibility.
Aesthetic Creations did all of the graphics on my MINI (boot, bonnet, sides, and rear quarter-panels. I can't say enough good things about them.
Again, I didn't have a problem with the actual vinyl that MightyStripes used for the kit I got for my wife's car (boot/bonnet/lower sides), and the installer I used even commented that although the kit was pretty shoddy and wildly overpriced, the vinyl itself was high-quality.

Aesthetic Creations = that had the one I was looking for = Now how easy/hard are these to get on - Correctly??
Now that I go back and look at "Cooper Flags" They also look very good
Thoughts??? one better or easier to work with?? one is $75 the other $150 = money NOT the deciding factor -
Quality and how it looks is what I am after..

I haven't heard any complaints about either. I recall some comments on how Mike at Aesthetic Creations was a great guy to work with. Call them both (or email) and ask them about the quality of their vinyl. I hear there are 10 year vinyls, and 3 year vinyls...
I don't know how hard it will be to deal with the door seams, but other than that they should be easy. The side is fairly flat. Putting on stripes gets hard when you have to go over lots of compound curves. I found to the boot to be quite difficult. I gave up and left it blank. The top of the bonnet was very easy. The bumper a little harder.

OK I'll be the only one recommending MightyStripes! I purchased the dual Viper stripe kit for top front to back and called him to provide me a matching set of sigles to put one on each side...he made and shipped to my door in like 2-3 days.... TO MY DOOR!! not even stock items he HAD to make them..I have semi flat main stripe with an orange pin..
You may have seen me if you were at MITM...as mentioned curves make it difficult..use heat (gun) on car ..car needs to be warm if a soapy decal is to stick long enough to pull the masking paper off..and vinyl too...after placement and pressing out..I would not try a full roof graphic but I'll do stripes all day long...id show you a pic but its to much hassle...if I get an email I could do one that way...all look the same really...different colors the exception

I've done two sets of boot stripes and one set of bonnet stripes. I found them to be pretty easy to do, the boot stripes a little easier to do because they're only... what... 18 inches long ?
Although I will admit that I bungled one boot stripe because I didn't sufficiently strip the wax prior to installing and when I pulled up the protective cover... oops, the vinyl came with it.
But as long as you don't make that mistake.... E A S Y !

sent you pics harley....Mighty stripes calls the Semi flat product "transparent" so if ordering you'll know doing the job yourself just takes time..I removed all grilles vents license plate trim etc that the stripes got near so that as many edges as possible are hidden...yes I'm wierd/**** like that.... you should see my 72 datsun 510 roadracer I'm building now, the Shelby Cobra...on and on

Hers is a convertible, so I obviously didn't order the roof stripes, but I did order the boot stripes. The boot stripes are the same as the other stripes - their website just doesn't have a picture.
The problem was, when the kit arrived, the bonnet stripes are NOT tapered as shown on their site, and they sent me straight stripes instead of the U-stripe shown on their site. Also, the "white" stars on the stripes are actually just star-shaped cutouts in the vinyl (NOT white stars on top of the blue vinyl, as shown on their site), so whatever colour your car is, that's what colour the stars will be.
Lastly (and this is the biggie), all of the red accent stripes were together on a separate piece of backing paper, so they had to be aligned and applied separately from the main stripes. Also, the red accent stripes for the boot stripes *are* pre-curved to go around the main stripe, but the curve radius of the pre-curved accent stripes and the curve radius of the main stripe aren't the same, so the gap between the accent stripes and the main stripes isn't consistent. My installer fixed it with a heat gun, but adjusting the gap when the accent stripe is already pre-curved is harder than it needs to be.
So basically, all I got for my $182 was six rectangular pieces of blue vinyl that had star-shaped holes cut out of them, and about 30 total feet of red pinstriping on a separate piece of backing paper. And the various pieces of red pinstriping were from multiple dye lots and didn't even match each other.
I bought my side stripes from Cooper flags and my GP scoop vinyl from Aesthetic Creations. Pleased with both. My only complaint from Cooper Flags is that they did not knock out the area under the solid part of the stripe where the red S overlaps. Although it still looks good there is a shade difference where the S portion goes over the solid stripe and regular body panel. I reccomend taking it to a professional installer. You only have one chance to do it right. If you screw it up your out of luck. Although both companies are good a local vinyl sign graphics company can usually create and install any graphic. If they make a mistake on the installalion they can just print out another one no charge to you.
