questions about R56

Hello All,

Just got my R56 a week ago and had some questions that I was wondering if people here knew answers to

1) DSC off button. When you press this, there is no indication of when it is off or on? How do you know if this is on or off if you lost track of how many times you pushed it or if you accidently pushed it twice?

2) Under the window switches, there are 2 little knobbie things, anyone know what that is for?

3) Air coming into the cabin without turning on the fan. In the R53, with fan off, you'd still get some air into the cabin... I noticed in the R56, there are none... wondering if there is a panel that can be removed to alleviate this?

4) seat belt chime.... anyone know of a mod to turn this off?

Thanks in advance!

1) Hold it down until you see the idiot light
2) Knobbies? I don't have knobbies. Why don't I have knobbies...? I want knobbies. Really; I have no idea what you mean...
3) I have an R53 also and no air comes in with the fan shut off. Perhaps you could open a window?
4) Put on your seatbelt.....

I have knobbies. I believe they are there to (1) serve as stress on the center stack sleeves to keep them from rattling (they are bungied to it), and/or (2) to hold the OEM cubby organizer in place. Coincidentally, they perfectly hold my 3 outlet cigarette lighter socket expander in place and virtually out of sight, yet accessible.

Good answers Arnbut . On the ***** ,I believe he means the two rubber **** that are on each side of the compartment under the lower switch bank, put your hand in you will feel them. I have wondered what these were myself. Anybody know. ??

Oh, those knobbies.
I think that they're mounting points for the aux gauge cluster that you can put in there. It's a black panel with two gauges.
Lemme find it....

Thanks for the responses!

one more question... does anyone know if the wheel arch lights from R53 fit on the R56? I have a set of clear ones and was going to try to fit them on this weekend and thought I'd see if anyone has tried this already.

MINI doesn't presently offer guages for the R56, so I doubt that's what it's for.

Maybe they're to distract you from the styrofoam looking wedge type thing taking up most of what otherwise would have been a decent door storage pocket.
