R56 AT Fuel Economy
While I had the MY R56 with a MT I was getting a minimum of 31.5 mpg around town and about 36 mpg on the highway. That was for the entire time I had it up to the 3000 mile mark where Mini took it back.
The new car has the AT (which I like much better, for convenience sake) and has been dissappointing at the gas pump.
Fill-ups have been producing a declining mpg figure consistantly since new.
28.5, 27.5, 26.5, and today 25.5 mpg.
I haven't been beating on the car (yet) and was expecting at least 30 mpg under light-traffic commuting...
The trip computer is optimistic between 1/2 and 2 mpg, btw.
What are other AT drivers getting? I'm at about 1400 ft above sea level and using top shelf 93 octane fuels (QT, Shell, Chevron).
The car has a little less than 1000 miles on it.

If I do a lot of stop and go traffic with temp's in the +95F range, mpg's suffer greatly.
I have been averaging 26.6 mpg around city streets, 29 mpg with light freeway travel. What I have started doing is picking my shift points myself, we'll see what the next fill up reflects...
I can go just as far as my previous 4Runner, not to shaby!

I'll have to agree with the recent heat points. I have noticed a decline in my MCS from about 32mpg mixed driving to around 29mpg or so. It's been pretty consistently hot here recently (>95F). Light A/C use (2 notches on). Not too aggressive. Have filled the tank up again for another calc. Will let you know.

32.5 mpg yesterday with mixed real-world non-commuting driving. This included some very naughty behavior in the mountains on the ultra-twisties and some mundane 4-lanes and a little interstate.
Looks like the R56-S just doesn't like stop-n-go commuting traffic and will punish me with poor fuel economy when I force it to do that duty.

I just got 36.3 MPG on a 275 mile trip in my MCSa a couple of day ago (it was 37.3 there and came back down on my way home). When I started, I had about 900 miles on her. She has been steadily improving her mileage as she gets more miles on her. I have been getting about 27 MPG in the city so far.
I do keep the auto AC on all of the time.
