Anyone else waiting for a production number?

I ordered my Mini on Tuesday (July 24) and still haven't gotten the production number yet. Is anyone else out there dying like I am?? I'm ready to get on the Owner's Lounge and obsessively check there! Also since my Mini is pretty much bare will production go faster??

Congrats on ordering your MINI. You are in for a long wait, but that will give you time to learn your way around.

IIRC, they won't give you the Production Number until it has been actually scheduled for production... i.e. if your dealer has a backlog, your order won't necessarily go in as soon as you would like (I was lucky in that regard).

Wish I could tell you the wait is nothing, but I'm in the home stretch of my "ordeal" but everyone says it'll be worth it. Lets be frank though... waiting is VERY HARD.

Welcome to NAM. Have fun tracking your MINI's birth, and travels.

Happy Motoring.

What week are you scheduled for? I was scheduled for week 32, which I believe is next week/week and a half and just got my production number eariler this week. I guess you don't get it until your pretty close to actually getting in production.

Production weeks are numbered starting with first week in January. Weeks start Sunday and end Saturday. If you are in week 32 then that would be August 5-11.

I ordered my MCS on July 30th. The dealer had a slight backlog, I was #4 on their list of about 20. I just got my production number 2 days ago. Scheduled for a week 36 build.

Really? I ordered mine the same day and got my production number right away. I'm scheduled for 1st week of Aug build. What week is that?

I don't think your production will go faster considering the way the MINI line works.

No Luck

I ordered mine on the 24th and he said it would be about a week before he got the production number. I'm thinking that they either 1. only put their orders in once a week or 2. he was out of slots for the month so I wont get one until Aug 1. Either way I am dying! I've waited 5 years what should 6 more weeks be? lol

Now you have scared me. Are the productions slots full for August for everyone or just your dealer?? If I have to wait until October I may die. It's been almost 3 days and I am going crazy already. It doesn't help that I decided to keep my Mini a suprise so I have no one to whine to. (Except you guys!! )

Production slots very from dealer to dealer, just in Illinois, two dealers had a 4 week difference in ordering time. You should ask your dealer when to expect your car, they usually have a decent idea.

Ha, ha..sounds like we're in the same boat. Except for my wife, I've kept ordering my MINI a secret to everyone. And I'm still waiting for a production number, but I already knew I was gonna be waiting for 3 months before my MINI will even get here since my dealer's allocation for the month had been filled up.

I think I read on this site that the production was going on a 2 week break at the end of August...someone else may be able to confirm or deny this.

We ordered our MINI on 7/16 and got our production number before we left the dealership. The dealer told us that we had taken a inventory car's production number. Sure enough, when we logged into the owner's lounge the car was completely different than what we had ordered. Two days later (after constant checking) the owner's lounge was updated with out custom build. According to 866-ASK-MINI our car is scheduled for completion for 7/31.

We were extremely lucky to get our order so in production so quickly. After checking on this board, I've seem some very long waits.

If I were employed at MINI, I would update the process in two ways. First, Have the owner's lounge synchronize in real time. The dealers have this ability, why not us? Second, I'd like to see a SMS message service for each phase the car moves through during production. Instead of logging in, or calling in, I could opt for a message on my Phone. I would still probably log in, but I like the concept of pushing automatic updates.

Automatic updates would be awesome, it would be great to get a text message telling you what is going on with your Mini!! Well the dealer told me 6 weeks, which puts delivery right around the middle of September. He told me I would get the production number in a week but I am still going crazy. ( I WANT IT NOW!!!) I have a wedding reception to go to this weekend and I am moving next week so hopefully that will help keep my mind busy with something else! (doubtful though)
