How to put Parking lights/side lights on temporatily??
I read somewhere on here a few weeks ago, now can't find it for the life of me. You can turn on the parking lights when you get out of the car and lock it, and they will go out after some time. And better yet, you can turn on just one side or something like that.....??
I can hit the flasher (flash high beams), and it will leave the headlights on for the time I set in settings after locking. But how do you just do one side and/or parking lights?

The headlights do that if I flash the high beems (pull up on turn signal stalk). And that is programmable in the regular settings (not dealer programmed).
But somebody mentioned you can do the same with just one side of the car's parking lights?
They mentioned it's usefull in the UK when parking or something....

Parking lights in European cars are designed to turn either the left or right on. As their name implies, they are for parking. The side toward the street is supposed to be put on for safety. The R56 has this feature. As to going off after a set time, that would defeat their purpose and I never heard of it.
Flashing the high beams is the Follow Me Home feature. It goes out after the interval set on your car.
Using the turn signal when the ignition is off turns on the parking lights on one side. The Owner's Manual calls this standing lamps or roadside parking lamps. Be careful with this. It does NOT turn off by itself and could drain the battery.

Is there anyway to have the headlights come on ALWAYS for the programmed timeframe, whenever the car is shut off? OR must we do the flash thingy?

My Porsche 944T has that parking light feature. I don't know about the MC/S but, my battery never drained. Its a great feature when you park on a curved road. I would be amazed if this feature drained the battery. Of course I wouldn't leave it on for days..lol
Well, funny you should ask about the battery, I "tested" it yesterday, on accident. Playing arond with it.... then left the car parked and went into the office. I came out to go home, about 6 hours later and noticed the parking lights were still on. ALL of them, not just one side. So I left the parking lights in the on position. I have auto lights and usually use it, must have moved the switch when playing. Anyway, Minibird started right up, no problem at all. so at least we know it is ok, for 6 hours anyway.
But, I thought the mini shut off all lights left on after a while (except the one side parking lights if intentionally turned on of course...)??
