This Babbage needs some oil.

That event is sometime next year, right? I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing this Sept.

Just a few more days to port!!!
And then a few to starboard...

Good morning Emily and Robin. I suspect the SD crew are somewhere in UTAH by now. I'm having my first cup of coffee, packing up and then we are off to one last breakfast with a bunch of MINI folks. I will try to snap a few pictures.

Enjoy the day. Perhaps good drive on the coast for both of you. How is everyone else doing this weekend?

Robin, lubeoil for the computing device aka more coffee or other beverage of your choice.

Emily, right PW, your calling the kettle what color?

I'm back , it's good to hear everyone had a good time at MITM and that you are on your are safely on your way back home. I've been spending the past two days getting ready to sell my old car. I had it serviced, cleaned out the inside, washed it again, took pictures for the online ads, and printed out all of the necessary documentation for the sale.

I've also been spending some time with one of my mutts, Jadzia, (she's a 10 year old lab, chow, border collie mix) that had surgery on Friday to remove some masses on her side, stomach, and neck. Our vet also thinks she has a ruptured ACL in her right rear leg so we need to take her to a specialist (hopefully this week) to get it checked and surgically repaired. We originally thought she had just pulled a muscle but the initial x-rays and the fact that her leg hasn't gotten better is really leaning towards an ACL injury.

Thanks to all for keeping the information flowing, from the Carmen to MITM.

Hi Gary. Been wondering what you were up to - as if there was anything other than NAM

Sorry to hear about Jadzia. I hope that the masses that were removed are benign.

Oh, and Don, we are both amateur PW's compared to Gary.

Almost a PW

Emily, I do believe your right, we are pikers compared to some of our co-support members.

Finished up today with a late breakfast in Dillon after a drive via Frisco, a little drive down I70 from Copper, then a quick drive up I70 to the C103 Western Dragon. I had so much fun on Thursday drive, I wanted to take the drive again with Pat to show her how Scooter handled the twisties.

Only took a few pictures which are here.

You can browse my public albums and see what we found interesting at MITM2, it would be great to get a lot of you folks out here next year.

I really enjoyed meeting and spending MINI time with the SD crew. Pat took some table portraits of the SD folks, look in her picture album.

It appears Deacon may make it to Ensenada by Monday, I wonder if he will stop off for a little surfing. That was one of my favorite places to spend time while in college, only got in trouble a couple of times.

Good night and take care.

Gary,

Sorry to hear your puppy is not well, but your doing what you can do. We lost one of our Goldens a few years past, but they are always in our hearts.

Don

Thanks. Sorry to hear of the loss of your Golden a few years back Don. They can really become an integral part of the family. The masses should be benign fatty tissue ones. They are being sent of to a histo-pathologist to have them checked.

She did have a Mast Cell tumor (cancerous) on her right front paw last year, she lost a toe from that. Knowing her history we are just being carefull. She should still have many years left with us and we want to make them happy ones.

Well, I suppose you could classify me as a PW . I was averaging a little over 25 posts per day for a while.

Here are a few pics of Jadzia's owie areas.

She is camera shy so it difficult to get good pictures of the areas involved. I haven't managed to get one of her stomach yet. I'm hoping we can get the surgery for the ACL scheduled sometime this week. It will be two surgeries relatively close together but we want to get her back in shape as quickly as possible.

Jadzia, poor baby. I hope she gets well fast and this set of memories behind her. First time I will say this, no more pictures. Ouch! Poor little girl.

We're hooooooooooooooooome!!

We just walked in the door from MITM. We're home safe. The cars are unloaded, and we wanted to check in.

It was a looong drive...and it was H.O.T. going through Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.

Coming down the Cali mountain pass and seeing the ocean...mmmm....the Pacific never looked so good!! The thermostat dropped from a high of 111 to a wonderfully pleasant 86 at our house.

Had a GREAT time at MITM. We'll do it again for sure. We plan to get more folks from WCM to join us. It was a terrific adventure!

I have to get caught up on mail, bills, email, and life. I'll be back in a few.

Welcome back, safe drive I hope without flashing light stops.

Thought you might enjoy this picture, here is a link versus a full NAM picture display. It would help if you could provide names for the other two pictures.

Rest, have a great evening and enjoy the cool, it is 97 in Louisville today.

Enjoyed Mike and your company and all the folks from SD.

It's so good to be home. I can finally breathe again. Just as my body was acclimating to 11,000 ft, we had to leave.

The trip home was almost uneventful. Fortunately, no more speeding tickets, but I did manage to take a rock from a semi and shattered a driving lamp. No biggie...cheaper to replace than a windshield. We spent the night in Las Vegas. Mike and I simply do not having that gambling edge. We made our "deposit" there though...just to ensure Vegas could pay their air conditioning bills and keep the lights on for AMVIV.

I can affirm that a MINIs temp gauge will read 111. It was H.O.T. driving I70 crossing Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. I shamed cabrio owners everywhere when I had to stop and put the top up when the temp hit 108. I was cooooooked....as in, over done. I just couldn't take it anymore.

I'm still reading and catching up on y'alls antics while we were away. Looks like the thread was left in good hands.

We've been home for 4.5 hours and Mike's MINI-madness has returned in full force and effect. A brief 5 day reprieve was nice, but having the new-old-Mike back again is good too.

The Carmen needs to pick up speed again and hussle her butt into port.

Plushie , yeah! That was part of the missing ingredients. Welcome back, I hope you can recover from the embarrassment of putting the Cabrio's top up at 108. You have more staying power than I would if you lasted that long. I run the auto-air at 64 or 62 and only motor with the windows down in the Mountains which by the way were very nice this year.

Back to the saga, yes the Carmen appears to have slowed. They must want to do a late cruise off the coast of SD, so you all can paddle out for an early visit and inspection.

Morning everyone!

Thanks agin for everyone working so hard to help me keep in touch with Deacon and the Carmen

Tigs and Don have done a great job in describing the event here. I do have to say since I am a Colorado native that I knew what to expect heading into the Rockies, Tigs, Mark, Sandy, Justus, Victoria, and Jordan were all awestruck .

We did the Midnight on Mt. Evans run Friday, which was nice, got to see a few meteors, have a fun drive up to the summit, and headed back down. Saturday I had to go into Denver to pick up my son who stayed in town with his grandpa and uncle Thursday and Friday nights so I dragged Tig, Sandy, and Mark along for the ride. I told them about some of the local landmarks we would see along the way, and detoured to Buffalo Bill's gravesite/Lookout mountain. This allowed me to take them all down the "Lariat Trail" which is a phenominally twisty road along the backside that drops you off in Golden. Other the slow traffic it was a great ride.

The scenery was stunning, the MINI people friendly, the resort was very nice, all in all it was a good vacation.
