He said that things are about 2 days behind for cars with things getting installed at port (my iPod adapter and sport stripes). Hopefully it will be at the dealer on Thursday and home Friday evening or Saturday. <fingers crossed>

Do you think that peeps at MINIUSA, the VDC, and/or the dealerships read our threads here on NAM...and do things to intentionally toy with our emotions?

I mean, you've got to admit, there is one hell of a captive audience here...and folks don't hold back in expressing their thoughts, opinions, feelings, and emotions. It's got "scientific experiment with NAM rats" written all over it.

This is a data gold mine!!

Maybe your MINIs are/were built 2 blocks from your house, and are/were ready the entire time you've been waiting, and all the OL, WW, and dealership information is just a virtual tangle of lies to further the experiment! :impatient :impatient

I kid, I kid....I think

Condolences.

Remind me, what port-installed options are you getting? Is it the sport stripes?

I'll be stopping by MINI of Mountian View around 10:00 AM on Monday. Hopefully, you and Samwise will be long gone, but if you happen to be there around that time, perhaps we will run into each other. Er, let me rephrase that. Perhaps we could meet and say hello.

My MINI will actually be down the street at Audubon Body & Paint, but I'll stop in to tell the dealer it is there. MINI selected them to repaint my scoop. It doesn't match the hood color. Then there is the replacement of the rear bumper that got munched by the BMW owned by a famous TV producer. Gelson's Market in the Pacific Palisades is a dangerous place...

Awww... I feel the love.

Suddenly I can't get the song "We are the world" out of my head. I'm going to be stuck with that all day now. Gee thanks.

Getting visions of Stevie Wonder rocking back and forth and Boy George in his dress.

Of course. Some marketing exec at BMW had a bad golf game and needs take it out on someone.

First, I've not seen a large corp. that is savvy enough to pay attention to forums like this. Second, we are just a lunatic fringe that doesn't represent the majority of their market.

Actually, they are built in Nigeria and they have trouble getting funding because I didn't respond to the email about transferring funds to the USA.

Thanks for the condolences, to look at the bright side, at least they're not telling me it got crunched/damaged and I'll have to start all over. Now that would really suck.

My port options are the black sport stripes and the iPod adapter.

It would be cool to meet up with you one of these days (plenty of places to Motor in our neck of the woods), though I'm praying with all my might that I have Sam at home with me by Saturday.

I hope the damage to your poor MINI gets correctly remedied quickly. I guess if it had to happen, at least it wasn't some indigent schmoe with no license or insurance.

Sorry about the backup Emily.

Hey Emily, that does really suck. I imagine you were looking forward to some after work drives in the MINI. At least you have your M/C and all of us for support.

On a lighter and less smelly note, Cassie is back and looks and smells much better. She's a little happy camper, but a little stressed. You have to remember she is about 65lbs and tall for a Golden, here she is in scooter.

My MOCD only kicked in a little bit, dog hair was picked up with the sticky side of 4 inch black duct tape so I can see all the little golden hairs, wiped down the seats, dash and doors with a damp cloth (Nero later) as scooter does need a bath. I cleaned wheels yesterday, they had 350 miles of brake dust on them from a couple of mountain runs.

Now all I have to do is keep Cassie away from the skunk family who is raiding our bird feeders in the backyard. Guess she goes out front and gets to use the putting green for her nightly doggie deed. (Hummm, more yard work)!

You all take care, Emily get your MINI soon, Robin, get your MINI fixed, I missed the post where you picked up a butt bump. Mike, don't let Tigs take advantage or do!. Tigs, don't let Mike's MINI fixation get to you or since both of you have it, do! Be Happy and stay away from that Mommy Skunk and kits in your backyard.

I think I will go polish out a scratch from Cassie's long toe nails.

Probably true. But I like lunatic's... birds of a feather and all

Man, I knew I should have given them my account numbers, social security number, birthdate, and mother's maiden name. Nobody to blame but myself.

I'll second Tig's assessment of Cassie. She is VERY cute.

How old is she? Is that gray I see around her eyes and on her muzzle?

Also, thanks for the words of support Don! I do have a very fun route in the mountains mapped out as the long way home and am just itching to go Motoring.

Thanks she is a sweety, but alas no, no MITM. She does not ride in the car well, even in the Jeeps. She bounces around when the car is moving, I am not kidding she jumped up front with me about 8 times in scooter this morning. I thought putting up the wimpy arm-rest would keep her in the back, no way.

When you drive, she paces and bounces, when you stop for a light, she sits down and waits for you to move again. If I had to take her on a long trip, it would be a tie on who needs a valium, me her or my wife. :impatient

She does like to go places, so I guess I better get another beater for doggie mountain walks and dog water parks where she really has a hoot.

Try this link for Cassie at our local doggie water park. Louisville Dog Park...

Hahahahahahahaha she looks like she's having a terrific time!

Well, except in the photo where all you can see is her head.....it's like she's thinking, "uhhhh, is this ball really worth it"?

She'd love Dog Beach in San Diego!

You need a pet liner.

Now all I have to do is keep Cassie away from the skunk family who is raiding our bird feeders in the backyard. Guess she goes out front and gets to use the putting green for her nightly doggie deed. (Hummm, more yard work)!
I hear that mothballs are an effective skunk repellent. A friend had some living under his house. He put some mothballs under there and the skunks left.

Robin, get your MINI fixed, I missed the post where you picked up a butt bump.
It happened the day before I went into the hospital. I never did post about it. I probably should because of what happened with the Parking Distance Control.

I think I will go polish out a scratch from Cassie's long toe nails.
Do you know about the Rear Bumper Scuff Protector?

I'm guessing the link you meant was Scuff Protector? I've been pondering getting that or the MINI one which is rubber. Anyone try either of them?

About dinner time (no relation to anything else)

Thanks for the comments.

Emily, Cassie is 9 years old in August, she does have the white masking that older Golden's get when they mature. She had a playmate we lost to a brain tumor a few years ago, Maggie would have been 12 this July, she was a redhead Golden, she was a super sweet dog and a real swimmer. Love them both, but miss Maggie. We are thinking about another puppy, but we may adopt an older shelter Golden, if we find the right match.

Robin, thanks for the links, looks functional, you probably noticed my horse blanket, it needs a little velcro and I can save a couple of $$, but then again it depends on how many hours each week I remove dog hair.

Did you mean to use the same link for the Rear Bumper Scuff Protector? I will do a search NAM and google for it.

Tigs, yes she likes the water, but sometimes she lets the ball go and then comes back with those little dog eyes with the question, 'Where's the ball or you go get it'. She usually wins, spoiled dog.

Well gotta go see what is cooking for dinner, it has to be better than lunch.

Ok one more...

Emily, thank you for the link update. It lead to this which might be more to my liking since I plan on having the rear seats down a good portion of the time.

This boot extension in rubber and my horse blanket might be the ticket.

Mike, Tigs, where is your little boy?

Robin, thanks for reminding me about 'moth ball's', I have cats and sqirrels and birds, so probably will put up with the skunks unless we get blasted again this week.

Everyone go eat dinner, take a drive.

Which little boy? Jarek, Jordan, or Deacon?

Jarek, 16 y/o, is in Chicago with family this summer. He's working to earn money for his own MINI :impatient

Jordan, 12 y/o, just flew in from Redding, Ca. today. He'll be going to MITM with us

Deacon, is somewhere in the Altantic. Jordan's arrival today has Mike dileriously distracted at the moment. Updates on Deacon will continue to come in - but for the next few days, Jordan takes precedance.

I have the clear one. It seems to serve its purpose and is very hard to notice. But, Water does stick to it more than the rest of the car, even after Hydro. I think it's worth it. If you scratch it, you can just remove it and get another. I haven't scratched mine though. If you look in my gallery, there is a fairly close shot of the rear bumper. Can you see the protector?
