I thought it was Mike's job to obsess over Carmen's progress. You shouldn't take other people's jobs away from them.

 

But, I have to live with MINI-Mad-Mike. You didn't hear him when he got the last coordinates and speed. LOL it was....not....pretty!

I think you'd probably have a SANE-er time crossing the pond if the Carmen wasn't visible on sailwx.

It was unbearable (and exciting) the limited times we could track the Isolde, I can't even imagine going through that for the entire 22 days.

I'm tough, I can take it. I've been training for this mission since the day I met Mike years and years ago. He is extreme about everything he does. Nothing is done half-way or half-heartedly in our life.

I'm thankful he can track it from the comfort of his office chair, tucked comfortably behind a PC in our home. Otherwise...we'd have spent big money flying to Oxford, escorting the car carrier to SouthHampton, standing on the Pier saying BonVoyage to the Carmen....and then following behind it in a damn dingey, with a megaphone screaming, "Faster, Faster, Faster"...all the way to US soil. Trust me, I know Mike....we would have!

 

Actually it would have been an Ocean Kyak and we'd have fished for shark while we followed the Carmen

 

Bwahahahahaha <not sure if that was a laugh or cry>. Scary thing is I don't know you in person, but I believe you.

 

A friend and I hooked a good size shark while sailing a 19 ft. sailboat to Catalina. IIRC, he was trolling for albacore (or something good sized). His deep sea rod suddenly bent into a semicircle. We looked back and there were two huge black fins (tail and dorsal) trashing in the water. He frantically let out line while we wondered what the heck to do. Fortunately, the shark bit through the wire leader and was gone.

However, you'd probably be using harpoons.

 

Carmen is sitting in 30 knot winds with 7 foot waves :(

 

ACK! I hope the crew doesn't get seasick!



OMGoodness...the MINIs are probably all cowering in the ship's hold...with a few bullies (Big BMWs) calling them names.

 

Actually I bet its the opposite. The MINIs are probably fine (I'm sure MINI provides MINImine in their travel kits) and the bullies who thought they were so much better were hurling over the sides of the ship. The MINI's are too classy to call them names and are offering to share their MINImine with them.

Another 100 Nautical Miles... a bit calmer seas... down to 3ft waves, 4 secs apart, wind at 23kts.

 

You know, Mike....your MINI is onboard a very big ship...probably with alot of girl MINIs. ...what if the girl MINIs are taking advantage of our precious little Deacon?! OMGosh, what if he's no longer "pure" by the time he meets my LilTiger?!

Hey, you know how it is on some of those singles cruise ships. However, the VDC tests all cars for VTDs* when they come ashore.

*Vehicular Transferred Diseases.

 

Are you sure? *sniffle* I sure hope you're right.

 

I'm sure if the test is positive for a VTD, they get a stern lecture and a dose of MINIcillin and get sent on their way.

That said, I'm sure Deacon will be fine.
