Got the silver 07 tinted. Second thoughts!

so I just got my 07 pure silver's windows tinted. Now I am having second thoughts after its done!!! I'm on the fence on how tinted windows look with such a light silver color. Makes me wish I might of looked into some type of silver tint. Though I thought silver mirrorish tint would of looked "ghetto".

Ugh, I hate that I can't make up my mind if I like it or not. I will have to take a picture, so I have a before and a after.

The tinted windows on a light color must look amazing! Post pics so we'll be able to compliment you on them

Dude, unless you got cheap *** purple tint, I'm sure it looks killer! And you're right, mirrored tint is totally ghetto.

+1 for tint.

-5 or 6 if you go with the metal

actually, the "metal" tints have have metallic particles in the tint compound, preventing discoloration after years of use. I see nothing wrong with that, it's not like it's a mirror-like look.

Then I stand corrected. It is the mirror-like tints that I deplore.
Your car shouldn't look like the windows at a bank.

I agree. I had the metallic-compound tint on my last car, and it's been at least 5-6 years since they were done... they still look brand new, while other regular tints are fading to purple

I like the dark transision especially with the black roof.

I second that on the metal tint to match your car

ya, I like it. I guess it just kinda made the car look "smaller" in some weird way. Does that make sense? I guess because now you can't see through it anymore.

Took some pics with my Treo phone here at my job. Not the best, but you get the idea. I with the car didn't have such a 'raked' look. I'd love to get the front up a little bit or drop down the back by a inch...

I like it with the tint.

Stupid Newb Question of The Day: What does "raked" mean?

raked means when the front end sits lower than the back. Creates a 'raked' look. Chevrolet is infamous for this. Most of their trucks and some cars are just a tad lower in the front than the back. I guess it's supposed to make it look more aggresive.

I just was never a fan of it.

The tint is a ceramic tint made by Formula One. It's supposed to reflect out about 50 some percent of the heat (i live in FL). It actually works, today I got in the car around 1, and it was a lot cooler than usual.

so what percentage is it??

also, I must say that your car is really the first pure silver car I can actually honestly say looks good. I was never a fan of the color, but your car looks great. The contrast between the windows, and the fact that the roof/mirrors match the rest of the body is also a plus. Looks wonderful.

I always forget something it seems. It's 15 percent all around. Techinically illegal on the side windows, but as with half of FL toting around with dark windows it is very loosely enforced.

That film looks great. Where in Florida are you? I'm in Miami and trying to get my windows tinted as well.

Thanks

Looks hot! I need to post pics of mine too! I have the same color combo and did 30% all around an 5% on the sunroof. Tinter told me to wait a week to wash the car, so I ended up driving it in the rain and as such not washed it for photos. Will have some up this weekend!

Love it!

Wait a week to wash it? Did the guy tint the outside of the windows? Weird.

I think that it looks really good. I think that on a darker car the metallic looks great.

I got it done by a place called flying window tinters. They are located right outside of orlando here in longwood. I have had them do work before, they are awesome. I have an older vette, and the guy had to do 3 pieces on the back window to get it to curve right. You couldn't tell that it was more than one piece when done. Quality work.
