"Motor"boating on Undine!! I NEED HELP!!
Ok, I officially need help!!
Minibird was loaded today (6/19/07) onto the Undine. Then, as crazy as it sounds, the Undine departed the Southampton, UK dock bound for NY an hour later. Minibird is on his way to, oddly enough, Southampton, NY at Mini of the Hamptons.
I know it's hard to beleive, but I've provided pictures depicting the entire unbelievable story below. First you see a live webcam shot of the "Undine" docked in Southampton getting loaded with my mini this afternoon. Then, there is a shot of the tracking info as updated on the W&W shipping site, showing Minibird as onboard the Undine just a few minutes later. Then, miraculously, a picture of the same dock, EMPTY. THEN, via radar, you can see the Undine traveling down the channel toward the sea.... I know, I know, I too found it hard to believe, unless I saw it all with my own eyes I would not have believed it either.
If I am mistaken, please let me know, but as far as I can tell, it's a miracle!!!!! See for yourself:
Here is the Undine at the dock today:
Here is the ship tracking site saying Minibird is now loaded on Undine:
Now, here is the dock EMPTY tonight, just a few hours later:
Then, some radar of Minibird traveling down the channel in the Undine:

Good job Birdman! I'm like you. I watched cameras, checked tracking, etc. You'll treasure having these for your "scrap book" or should I say Minibird's "baby book"?
Jake was not on a WW ship so there were a lot less options for catching glimpses of the journey.
This doesn't apply to east coast folks, but the cameras at the Panama Canal are amazing. Was able to see the Auto Banner cross with my MINI.
Hang in there. Minibird is almost home!

The question is, should I check myself in somewhere?? ;-)
No updates on wx tracking yet. I don't think they turn on the WX tracking stuff until they are well offshore. hopefully sometime today it will start "pinging" weather data. Hope it's nice and calm out there.
If anyone is interested, I'll be taking my boat out about 30 miles off of Long Island (to the shipping channel) next week to watch the Undine "motor" by with Minibird!!

She's moving right along, 10% across, or is it, ONLY 90% left???
Dan,
Glad to see the Undine has a "mini hospitable" past!!

I've never been so excited at the sight of a little line of red dots.
I think the wait gets touger in a few days - once our bairns are offloaded into the abyss of our respective VDC's
Have you received any changes to your "expected delivery date"? Or any type of indication of when to expect delivery?

Nope. Last I checked the online ask mini thing(a day or two ago), it still said "In production" or somethng like that....
You meant 5.5 to go!!! ;-)
And, for those interested, the Undine is averaging 17.6 miles per hour. The water temperature is a nice warm 68 degree's, which is perfect for Tuna. I should have told Minibird to bring along some trolling gear, there are probably some nice Yellowfin tuna aroudn the boat!!

Actually I'm being dropped off in Halifax, which gets into port on Tuesday!!
Thats interesting, because I think the drive to NY is shorter than the Halifax. I guess its a wash with the extra 1 or 2 days it takes to get to NY from halifax by boat, plus any delays I would run into at customs, etc.
