Pics At Last!

Good Morning all (well, it's morning here, no idea what time it is in NA!)

After a very hectic week I've finally found time to get some pics of my new MC sorted. She was delivered as standard to me last Tuesday, and all I've really had time to do so far is get the wheels and stripes sorted.

The wheels are Arospeed RSGTs with a polished stainless rim. Had to go for 19s but struggled to find something that wouldn't look stupidly big when on the car. I'm loving these - wasn't too sure when they were delivered but now they're on the car I love them.

I did the stripes mself - hadn't realised what a **** of a job it was going to be but I'm really happy with the result. The original plan was to have an all black car with dark silver stripes, but my dealer offered me an identical car, brand new but with a white roof and mirrors on it, so I opted for that and then went hunting for a white stripe kit. Decided to go for viper stripes with a matching pin-stripe. Opinions welcomed!!

And yes, I know she needs lowering. Finding kits over here is nigh on impossible - to that end; does anyone know if a kit/springs for the R52 shape mini will fit the R56?

Anyway: Pics....

As delivered - standard wheels:

Wow - that looks cool. I wish we had more MC owners here doing mods like this in the USA. Seems the mod-a-holics usually buy the S here.

Now you said the wheels are 19s? Does anybody know if that is the same sizing as we have in the USA? Looks like our 18s.

White over black is good.

Congratulations, nice combo. I think you will really like the classic look versus tuner black on black. My DS/w will be here in my hands in a couple of days. Your wheels are sharp. What other mods are you planning for the MC?

What tyre size did you put on the wheels, if I missed it in your posting, sorry.

Felix,

Another comment, the stripes look excellent, I like the pinstripe. You should be able to find springs from the German supplier, check the threads for the R56. Buy them from the States and get a real good pricing due to exchange rate.

See this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=99153

Lastly, I must be missing something on posting, but how do you put full size pictures in your messages versus the thumbnails which show when myself and others post pictures. Do I need to turn on a feature? Or just become more creative in my posting?

Best,
Don S.

What a huge difference that made! Congrats! Love the change they made. How is the ride on the 19"s? Never tried that on a MINI before!

Enjoy it in good health! Happy Motoring!

well thanks for all the kind words folks.

the wheels are 19" but due to the fact the spokes don't go right to the edge of the rim they look more like 18s. but our 19" is the same as your 19" as far as i'm aware.

the tyres (tires!) are falken 235/35/19. the ride is firm but not harsh, and the handling is even grippier than before. it really does corner fantastically - i guess it'll be even better when i finally get her lowered!

oh, and she's called elsie!

the pics were uploaded to www.photobucket.com then i simply paste the img. tag into the message box. easy.
