Everybodys thoughts on the laser car wash.

We have a laser touchless car wash by my house. ive been to it once and it did a great job of cleaning the car. i like to apply zaino once every month and in between just wash off the car and be done with it. the zanio is a miracle product and keeps the car looking good as new. here is my question:

when i went to the laser wash last time it shoots very very high pressure water at the car. this is fine with me. what worries me is the front of the car. the engine is running at full temp (really hot) then cold water is forced into the front of the car instantly. could this temperature change damage anything? could anything crack, weaken? is this bad for the internals, engine? thoughts?

Won't hurt it a bit... I run mine through the Lazer wash and wipe it down with Hydro when I get home and "bodda bing" it's done!

Your car is designed to drive its hot engine into rainstorms and through very cold air. If the car can survive these, my (legally non-binding!) guess is that the car wash squirters will not cause any shock-cooling damage.

Looking around on the web site, the most common concerns I see are (1) will a high-pressure wash start to peel my expensive bonnet stripes, and (2) will a high-pressure wash defeat the sunroof's weather seal.

Good luck,

No, your safe , Its no different as a heavy driving rain, and then the engine is running, sucking it in. Your absolutely safe. cars drive through puddles all the time with no consequences.

How about when I take mine up to Vermont, in a driving blizzard, -10 degree's out side???

The drive is about 5 hours of 70 MPH driving, the motor is as hot as it will get, yet it's getting pummeled with driving ice and snow that is -10 degrees.

Think your fine with 60 degree water. ;-)
