I’ve done multiple searches but haven’t really found the answers I’m looking for.
I have a 2009 Clubman S with NAV and basic audio system with 6 speakers. I am swapping out my lower front door speakers as one doesn’t work. I am installing a set of 6-3/4” components and was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following:
1) Should I tap the tweeters into the mid/high range speakers or the mid/low ranger speakers? Why?
2) What have people found to be the best placement for the tweeters? I know the factory H/K’s in in the A-pillars, but should I place my tweeters in the upper door panel sill? I’m not an audiophile by any means and just want good sound, but if I’m doing this, I would like to do it once. I’m not replacing my A-pillars, either.
The speakers I got should work well with the factory radio (93.5 db and 4 ohm) as I am not replacing the radio at this time.
I’ve attached pictures of the possible locations. Possible door panel location. Factory location.
