Low wiper fluid icon when it has some

I get a yellow low wiper fluid light. First time I was low on fluid and filled it. Since them I intermittently get this icon after starting the car. Issue is there is wiper fluid. Yes I did put it in the right spot. The sprayer works as it should. Any ideas?

Bad sensor? Bad connector?

The float is probably sticky. Try flushing it with denatured alcohol or vodka, then use only the blue screen-wash fluid.

Prior owner had this thick orange fluid in it when I bought it. I only use the cheep blue stuff. It sat a few years before I purchased it.

Exactly. You need to get rid of as much orange as you can. Try some hot water & flush out the rear jet as well.

Never tried the rear wiper cleaner. I have not yet fixed the rear wipers so never tried the cleaner back there.

I've had my 08 since it was new, I never knew there was a light for low wiper fluid.

I think it is an option on some cars - a yellow light on the end of one of the stalks, perhaps?

I have a 2009. It is a yellow icon with a windshield and a bunch of dots getting sprayed on it. The sprayers work and since it will not cause any damage to the car I am working on the ignore it method to fix this one. I check the oil regularly and all other fluids at the same time so I should not run out of fluid. Also this is a fun car and not a daily so it is not out in bad weather.

This said I have checked all of the connectors etc. I am only using the cheep blue stuff.

From the 2008 owner's manual:
