It is my first post on the forum so I'd like to say hello.
I have a problem with my Mini - 2007 Clubman S, 60k.
I have recently changed clutch, flywheel and I did major service including oil replacement.
On the same day I realized that whole valve cover is covered by oil (please see the photo)
But it doesn't look like gasket failure as there is no trace of oil on the engine block.
The 2nd photo was taken on the day I bought the car, you can find a little bit of oil on the valve cover but not much.
I am not sure what caused such failure the only reason I can think of is the plastic cover with mini logo which isn't fixed/screwed/glued to the valve cover, is it OK or it should be fixed?
