Notice of Class Action

Got a letter in the mail yesterday regarding a settlement of a Class Action Suit involving the Plastic Water Pump on some vehicles including R55 Clubman. My wife has 2011 Clubman non S with the N16 engine. Does this vehicle have the Plastic Water pump? I have no clue if it does or even where it is. I know the water pump pully was replace shortly after we bought it in 2014 at its 30K service.

I had to replace mine about a month ago. What does the settlement cover? Does it reimburse for parts if I did the replacement myself?

from what i read, it seems to cover if you paid to have the "plastic" original water pump replacement.

Still waiting for my letter! Still running on the original plastic bodied pump from 03/2008 with 51k miles. How can they settle a CA suit on the water pump and not the freaking POS thermostat??

I had to replace mine in October 2013 @ 69,000 miles. Already got the letter and submitted my claim. MINI owes me the $470 for parts & labor, as well as $50 for the rental car via the MINI dealership...it wasn't complimentary, and the service was not covered under the "extended warranty" - which I'm 100% convinced is a scam racket anyway.

I got the letter. I replaced my thermostat housing a few years ago for $450. I hope to get some of that back now...

Yes, the newest ones are all metal on the outside. FEBI has one with a metal impeller.

Right around 2013~ they switched to a metal one for Genuine MINI . The older 11518604888 was plastic then went to a metal one. They are for all Gen 2 MINI 2007+, you can tell if you have the metal one by looking under the passenger side near those main drive belts on the back side of the engine.
