bluetooth on 2012 clubman

Hi guys. Trying to close a deal today on a 2012 Clubman base. It's a certified NEXT from a MINI dealer, and he tells me that it does NOT have bluetooth (says that some of the early 2012 models came from factory without it). He also said it is very expensive to add it. Anyone have any experience or knowledge of this? I'd love to have the bluetooth functionality, but its not a deal breaker for me....

thanks!

Does it have an AUX in jack near the shifter? If so a cheap 12v Bluetooth adapter is just $30.

yes - thanks for this input. I am actually more interested in the speakerphone bluetooth functionality. I think this would be for music, correct? Anyone dealt with getting the phone functionality into a 2012 Clubman?

My 2012 Clubman S came with the bluetooth phone.

Perhaps the base you are interested in was produced earlier in 2012 rather then later? Ask them when the engine was produced and perhaps this might be the case?

We have it on our 09, and everytime we use it the people on the other end complain they can't hear us well. So, we rarely ever use it.

Have you swapped the mic over to the driver's side? Makes a big difference.

It can, it makes a huge difference. It's located in the upper console, it unclips and can be swapped to the drivers side.

Right now it's pointed at the passenger side.

I just dug through my bookmarks for the how-to guide:

It's a quick job and makes a big difference!

Yeah, it isn't worth taking that all apart. The luck I have with this stupid car some stupid piece of plastic that cost $100 will break or something.

yes, this is exactly the case, per the dealer. I boûght it anyway, in fact I am in the air on my way to pick it up and drive it home. Is there any affordable way to retrofit it? Was it a mistake that it was left out of the early '12 models?

Ha! Thanks. I drove my Clubman over 1400 miles home. LOVE IT. Not worried about the bluetooth - too expensive it seems to retrofit. Thanks to all who have chimed in!

I swapped my mic in 10 min. No breakage. No issues. Plus I fixed a ratty while it was down. It's easy. Really
