R55 Cold weather CEL and surging
Cold weather CEL and surging
So we got our first really cold days here in MA yesterday and today and when I started my car last night I got a cel and huge surging in the RPMs. I pulled the car in the shop and got a code for sticking throttle valve. I read somewhere that moisture is freezing in the intake and that's what's causing this. Once the car warmed up all was good but I got it again this morning and again once it warmed up all was good. Has anyone found a solution to this?
You can clean the gunk and residue oil / moisture that reside in the intake, you will have to take the intake off or at least get the the throttle body to clean it all out. Or if you live in a really cold area they have this .

Maybe able to clean it out, seems like this happens every year when we get sub arctic weather blast.
