2011 S Temperature

Hello! First-time MINI owner here I have a question about the normal operating temperature of my 2011 Clubbie S. It stays between 100 and 110 degrees (Celsius), which seems hot to me given that every other car I've owned (no MINIs) have stayed around 90 degrees (Celsius). I've always been told that pretty much on any car your temperature hand should stay in the middle of the gauge, and mine obviously is constantly about 3/4 of the way to the edge. Is this normal for this car? The dealership kind of shrugged it off, but then again, they shrugged off my caliper problem, too :(

That seems about right. 100 Celsius is 212 farenheit. My r55s is always around 215-220° farenheit. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

How are you guys check in the temp? I don't have a temp gauge and it aggravates the heck out of me.

Thanks y'all! I have a temp guage that maxes out at 120 Celsius, so the 110 freaked me out!

My wife has a 2011 Clubbie S. I have the JCW temp gauge in it. It runs right at 105 t0 108 C most of the time, except under heavy load, then it goes to 90C. I'll tell you a trick though. Turn on the A/C full cold and fan to high and the temp will go down to 90C and pretty much stay there unless you change the A/C back to slower and warmer.

Sounds about the right temp to me. You don't have a problem.
