Comfort Access Button Not as Responsive as Before

I also post this on the R56 site as well to gather more info:

I have a 2008 Clubman that has comfort Access (keyless start), The driver side lock button on the door handle use to be pretty sensitive that I can use my thump to have a little "push" and the car will lock and unlock, but lately I need to use my "thumb nail" to push in further to engage the lock/unlock, is there a way to "replace" or re-service the button? Anyone had the system experience this?

My 2008 Clubman has had varying levels of responsiveness over time.....I can't explain it. I've just assumed that it had something to do with the strength of the batteries in my fob, and the proximity of the fob relative to the door handle (jacket pocket, backpack, in my hand, pants pocket, etc.). It can get a little irritating if you're standing there waiting for the car to lock before you can walk away.....

I changed my battery but no different...

Here are some suggestions:

I replaced the outside handle for this problem.
Button was as you described exactly, thumbnail had to be used to activate locks. Hatch and passenger door functions were normal.
I suspect something had allowed the switch to back out of it's position.

I'm having the same issue, some times I have to hold the button in for what feels like forever, other times it's right away. Anymore I just use the unlock button on the fob and call it good. It is frustrating having to get the key out of my pocket when my hands are full, but oh well.

I fixed mine by changing the battery. Make sure the key is clean and dry inside.
That said, It's 4.5 years old, gets used a lot and occasionally seems reluctant. I make sure I turn my body so that the key is as close to the car as possible.
It's a huge convenience when it works.

Thanks, but I think it's not the battery (I replaced mine with new battery in the key fob and the button is still non-responsive. Passenger side is pretty responsive so I know it's the button on the driver side handle, not the key fob.
