Driver side door rattle solved!!

I don't know if anyone already posted this solution, but......

I had my clubman for about a month now and I've got this rattle sound from the driver's side door. It's like a plastic on plastic rattle. So, I took it to the dealer and left it for a day. They gave me a rental clubman to drive, and this too had that same rattle.

Finally, I went to pickup my car and the dealer told me that the Minis are known for rattles and the there is nothing loose or broken, so, they couldn't help me. This was not good enough for me, so, I did a little research on this site and found out that the rattle was coming from the back bottom part of the door panel.

I also found this link which explains how to remove the door panel.
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...or-panels.html

If you look at this link, there is a C shaped part of the panel at the very top. That is where the rattle is coming from. In this C shaped part, there are plastic screws that hold it to the door. These plastic screws are loose and spin around freely. Just tape those screws up and your rattle will be gone!!!!

You can fall back in love with your Mini again!!!!!

I'm always amazed how 'ordinary' people can find solutions to problems that the so called 'experts' can't.

Good work HCK4421, ... and thanks for posting this information!

I've noticed that same rattle recently when taking left turns. Sounds exactly how you described, plastic on plastic.

Thanks for the tip and good job!

Same rattle here. Kind of up high near the top of the panel. Plastic on plastic.
Button on steering wheel makes it go away.
