A Bad Week!

So my husband took our 2010 Clubman S to get babied at the carwash. (I don't trust carwashes and asked him to take it to the dealership bc they give us washes for free but he doesn't think they do a detailed enough job). So the carwash motherffers sratched up one of the bonnet stripes so badly that all you can see is white coming through the black.

They've agreed to pay for the replacement and the labour so hubs takes it to the dealership and they give him the info for their specialist who comes offsite to do it. And when is he going to call this dude? . . . NEVER.

Next day he's running some errands and notices that the rear tail light is cracked. He thinks someone did something in the parking lot but I think it's a rock or something from the highway. Anyway, the paint next to the light is chipped and there is a hole about the size of a quarter in the light.

WTF. . . so now I need to buy a tail light and figure out how to replace it . . . because I shouldn't go through my insurance, right? idk

I call the dude from the dealership and leave him a message

. . . WHAT A HASSLE and I'm resenting hubby for not taking care of business. . .

I had a week similar when I first bought my 2009 Clubman S. I had gotten 2 flat tires, a parking ticket and nearly crashed with a semi at an intersection in my first week of ownership. I really worried that this car had been bad luck and getting rid of it crossed my mind. But since that first week, I have never had a single problem with my car.

I do notice that when I let others use my car, bad things tend to happen. I'd hate to see a ding on my door from another door or shopping cart. I'd suggest to only allow people who love your car as much as you do, to drive it. Hopefully, that is nobody and you can keep the car to yourself

OUCH.. sorry to hear that :(. Ya my dealership offers me free car washes anytime I want and I can go to any of their other dealership (bmw, cadillac, chevy, honda, etc) to do it. Top it off there's one of their branch 5 minutes from me. I think I'm gonna always do that now after hearing this.

Echoing MotorMouth: I too also am glad i'm not in your husband's shoes.

Let me know if you find anything . . . I was thinking about this but I'm not sure. . .

Yeah . . . we call that the eye of envy, evil eye, or just simply eye. Gotta watch out.

Seriously! I'm with you on that . . .

I grew up washing & detailing the family car & guess what? I really enjoy it. It's really satisfying because no one is going to do a good of a job as you will with your own car.

I have a bucket full of supplies that I bought when we first bought the clubman and since we live in an apartment they've kind of just sat there. I actually got really pissed off at the hubby not washing the car that one night when I was pregnant I took the car at 2AM to wash at a self wash spot. It was practically impossible to fill up the buckets because of their high power hoses but I managed somehow. . .
